The home plugs will do nothing for you except in the original building. What you need to TRY and I am emphasizing "try" is to run an ethernet cable in the original building to a point closest to the other one. Put a good wireless N router at that point and another at the closest end off the. You will be using the second router as a repeater. There is no guarantee that will work because of factors that we may know nothing about. However that seems to be your best chance.

It is not a question of safe or unsafe. Somehow a spammer got hold of your address. It may have been included in a forwarded email sent by someone else down the line. Now they are sending you emails to that address. If you reply or even ask them to remove you from their list it will only make things worse. Your only real option is to change your address. Blocking certain senders will not work because they use many addresses themselves.

Your issue is not with Thunderbird. Thunderbird is merely a mail client that collects all of your active email accounts and puts them in one place so you do not have to go on the net to collect them one by one. If you are getting spam email the problem lies with one or more email accounts that you have opened and have set to forward to Thunderbird. As for removing it completely, I don't know if there is an issue but it would not solve your problem anyway.

From what I am reading your laptop works fine with an external keyboard and you can use your arrow and enter keys in the bios. From that I would consider that the issue is with the laptop keyboard. Something may have spilled on it or the flat cable that attaches the keyboard to the motherboard may be partially dislodged or just plain shot. I have one laptop with no keyboard at all at the moment and there is nothing in the device manager to point that out. -

Frankly despite the long and thorough explanation to me it looks like something is overheating perhaps the CPU. Download and run the free version of Speccy from piriform found here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download Run the program on startup and run it again as you are using the machine and let us know what it is telling you about temps. Have you given it a cleanout lately and have you ever removed the CPU and/or its heatsink? -
Your computer specs should not be giving you streaming issues. What sort of download speed are you getting from your ISP and why are you using a VPN which tends to slow things up a bit.

It looks as if you disabled P2P scanning. What P2P programs are you using? Are you using a torrenting program such as bittorrent or utorrent?

Truthfully I don't fully get what is happening. At one point you mention a freezing mouse pointer and then mention something about a modem issue and a red light on the screen. Can you be a little more detailed in your explanation of what is occurring. As for the last member's advice about "Last known good configuration," that may work (it is always worth a try) but the instructions are vague at best. Shut down your computer and as it is rebooting slowly tap on the F8 key. You must do this before Windows starts to load. If you see the loading windows screen it is too late. Try again after windows boots. Tappin8 F8 will take you to the Advanced Boot Options window. White writing on a black screen. You can navigate using the arrows and the enter key. You should also consider trying a System Restore to a point before this began happening. -

Does that mean that you can see your network but not enter a key or not see your network at all. The key and network name (SSID) you use for your home ISP is not the same as one that you would use at your place of work. Is this your own laptop or your employer's? When at work do you connect by cable or wireless? In Windows 7 have you looked in your "Network and Sharing Center" at the adapter settings (Change Adapter Settings in the left column) to see if your wireless network is enabled? Have you tried connecting using an ethernet cable?

Hi Synapse I guess I am reading this differently from you. I assumed that the lack of warnings in the device manager means very little if he had his external plugged in at the time. In addition if there is no card being recognized then there will also be no warnings. The image he posted showed no networks at all. If there were a working card it would show all the local networks even if they are secured. Hey, maybe I am missing something, it would not be the first time. :) Looking back at your post you have a point if the adapter is on one channnel and the internal card is on another there may be a conflict. Usually though he would still see his router. -

In post no 15 I told you how to check to see if your internal wireless card is enabled. I will add a few things. Remove the adapter from the usb port. Follow my instructions in the first paragraph of post 15. Is there a wireless adapter network card showing and if so does it say "enabled" if it is disabled then enable it. If it does not show one there then type "device manager" in the windows 7 search bar on the start menu. Select device manager from the top and look for "Network Adapters" what does it say? Make certain that your wireless adapter is not plugged in while you follow the steps above. -

That is what I thought. If you have looked at the adapter settings and the built in card is enabled and you see no warnings in your device manager then the obvious conclusion is that there is something wrong with the internal adapter. If the hardware needs changing there is really nothing that can be done on a forum. If the adpapter works then the least expensive soultion is to just keep using it.
