Hi, all helpers. can some1 help me? Ive just installed windows server 2012 r2 datacenter on my old pc with 2 hdd's, 1 for movies and 1 for my music that i'd like to steam them all over my home network to all my devices but not sure as to what to do next in order to achieve this. e.g. dlna, dhcp and create a domain if i need to as at the moment, network is all link by homegroup. Any info. would be much grateful. Thanks

I'd like to build a WHS with the 2011 version cd. i have some old pc parts that im hoping to use which are; Asus P5WD2 Premium Intel celeron 420 1.60ghz 3gb ram 6400 DVD Drive ati radeon x850 pro 256mb cit PSu 550wts Im planing on using a 160gb ide hdd for installing WHS 2011 and later adding 2 x 1tb hdd and 2x 2tb hdd for music and movies so i can stream them over my network and maybe share with friends over the net. ( Not really for backing up my systems only entertainment ) If this set up looks ok could you let me know plz. Thanks. Raz

Hi, thanks for your help. I can boot up after i choose 1 of the 2 option i get under the error message. cant remember the correct words but, press 1 to continue with default setting or press 2 to enter bios settings. I didnt get a new battery but just replaced it with a another 1, will need to get a new 1 soon. i can set the date and time in bios setting and restart the pc but get the message again when starting the pc again, so it happens every time i start the pc. I only use this pc as a media pc to watch movies and uplad music to my ipod. PC spec; Asus P5N-D intel 3.4ghz 4gb ddr2 nVidia Geforce 9600 gso 512mb Win.7 x64bit Thanks again for your help.

Hi all, Can som1 help me? I have a asus p5n-d mobo, that keeps giving the same error at start up " Cmoc checksum error - Defaults loaded". Ive updated the bios file from 0601 to 0801 and also changed the battery but I keep getting the same message. Ive tried to reset the bios with the mobo cd but that aren't no help either. If their arent anything else I can do, im thinking of getting a budget socket 1155 mobo with sli, could som1 recommended a mobo. Thanks

Hi, all. Can some1 help me? The problem is that i want to connect my old netgear DG834G ( 2nd Router ) to my new netgear DGND3300 ( 1st Router ), wirelessly. like a extender. Ive gone through some sites about how to do this, and able to change the settings. On my mobile i can see the 2nd router and connect to it but i surf the net. What ive changed in the settings of the 2nd router; IP to 192.168.1.1 Changed the SSID. Turned off the DHCP server off. Ive added both the mac addresses of the 1st router to the 2nd router In the 1st router setting, ive not changed much, IP to - 192.168.1.2 Enabled the Wireless Repeating Function as Wireless Base Station but not put any MAC addresses. After all this i cant get the two routers to connect wirelessly??? Can some1 plz help me, cos i cant figure out now what i need to do. :confused: Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your help. I've read and done what is said on that link you sent me but no luck. The DG934G is locked to sky settings. Would it help if i flashed it? cos i cant change the IP settings. Only on the DGND3300 and the D-Link NAS drive.

Hi all, Can som1 help? The thing is that i have two modems in two separate rooms which are connected by a cat5 cable. The new modem is a Netgear DGND3300, which is connected to the telephone line for surfing and the other that is my old Netgear DG934G which came with my Sky broadband. I've able to get the password and username off the DG934G and transferred it to the DGND3300 to use it as my main modem for surfing. I have a NAS Drive and my LED Tv connected to the DG934G + as far as i can see, the DGND3300 IP address ending has been changed to 0.2. and i've left the DG934G to its defaults setting as i've not tried to flash it yet. ( Not sure as to why, as i have the Sky password and username). Now the problem is, when both modems are turned on, I dont have a problem but when i turn the NAS Drive on or use the net on my LED Tv. I cant surf the net through the DGND3300. I've checked the IP address of the NAS Drive and it ends with 0.3. Now i can't workout what is happening as i was told to change the IP addresses of both the modems so they wont give problems. Q.is there some thing im missing or should i just call it a day and get a wireless extender? Can som1, Please help??? :confused:

Hi, All,:) The problem that I'm having is, when i start my pc, after all the bios loadings. i keep getting the options of 1. Install windows xp. 2. Start up with the already installed windows xp. This happened after my friend gave me a windows Xp disc that wasn't booting on his PC, so i tested it on my pc. After i went through the loading process of installing XP i cancel it at the option screen. but now i get the options at start up. what can i do, to take the 1st option off, for good? Som1, Please help...

Hi, all. Can som1 help me? The problem that i'm having is with my Asus P5WD2 Premium mobo. I;ve upgraded it with a 1.5tb seagate sata HD. After going through the process of installing xp i get a blue screen error message, telling me that i need to unplug any new hard disk and have it chkdk, but the same sata drive has install xp fine with another pc. I think its somthing to do with the raid setting of the p5wd2 mobo as i had a near problem in the pastbut got through it. 2Q. can i just install raid0 with that 1.5tb hd? The pc worked fine before trying this upgradeand as i only use the pc for the net and music, dont really want to update the mobo too. Can som1 please help
