  1. PCL software Goku, Hi, The email in question has been deleted from my computer and from my grandaughter's. It said .PCL or .2PCL. I'm not exactly sure which. If the info is too vague, don'y worry. The situation has passed. I just don't like to be beaten by a box of electronics, (still don't) but you've spent enough time on my trivial problem. Thank you very much. :) And thank you to everyone else who have tried to help. CHEERS John.
  2. Hi, Yes that makes sense and I understand it, BUT.... my old PC has been recycled and is no longer with me. Is my situation getting worse? John
  3. Hi, When I upgraded I swoppedd my computer for one with more "GO". So yes I did change CD/DVD drive. Out of my four CDs done on my old computer only two cannot open properly on my "new" one. ?? John
  4. Hi, I down loaded your suggested reader. It did not help. John
  5. Hi Goku Thanx for your help No avail I'm afraid John
  6. Hi, Sorry for the delay, I've been on hols. It says open with Windows Pictures & Fax Viewer. John
  7. Hi, My granddaughter has sent me as an attachment on an e-mail a document which is in PCL. Guess who does not have the software to open it?? Me! Can anyone recomend software ( free? ) for me to open it and reply to my Grandaughter? I have XP home. Thank you. John :)
  8. When I open an offending disc only some of the files open, the rest do not even show, in any form. As far as the computer is concerned, that's all.(but the disc is full). So I can't right click on the files that do not open. John
  9. If you tell me how to print off screen and attch. to post I'll send it along. John
  10. Hi, That was a quick reply. Thanks. After clicking properties I get four tabs; General, Autoplay, Hardware & Sharing. I have five copy discs. 1>4 done on my old computer, 1&4 open fine i.e. shows all, but not 2&3. John
  11. Hi all , How are you? :) My problem is this:- I have backed up all my photos onto CD discs (I even have copies of them). Now, I cannot open all the files on two of my five discs. Before I upgraded my computer, (same OS, XP home), I went into disc info and change the volume settings for me to view another section of the disc, no problem. But now?? I can't do that!! Can any one me, please? Thank you , John
