I was hoping for help by tonight,i wanted to watch a movie so anybody?

Hi thanks for the welcome guys :) It's an Acer Aspire 5715Z the resolution is 1280 x 800.

I have a widescreen laptop and websites have a margin at eachside of the screen...how do i get the pages to fit the whole of the screen.? I have tried with the resolution but that doesn't help...any other suggestions? Feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong place.
