ok...some of you might recognize my name from a previous post...well boys an girls it just got a little darker....i couldn't take it so i backed up what i could and wiped the drives and repartitioned....now its almost alright...there is some message of impending doom regarding my c: drive...let me explain i am getting a SMART error message telling me my hard drive may soon fail me...i dont know what this means exactly so i looked online...the only option i've seen is : " Backup your information and contact the manufacturer of the computer or hard disk drive for replacement or additional help. In some very rare cases the S.M.A.R.T. implementation on your computer may have issues of its own and may need to be patched before replacing the hard drive. " i was wondering if there is any other solution to this pesky problem...ty ~j.p.s.

hey guys...safe mode does actually work (>.<) its just really slow, but i got online and followed almost all of those steps....still in the process of completing...will let you know asap when i'm done...ty

also they way your explaining this to me is great, i understand those last steps perfectly i just dont know how to access the internet or download with my pc in its current state./...ty ~j.p.s.

well i use mozilla firefox usually...but thats no problem...the problem is i can't access my desktop...even in safe mode....i can use command thing to go on the internet but i can either start my cp in safe mode, safe mode with networking, or safe mode with command prompt....so you see where i can't go online and use the command thing at the same time...or can i? in safe mode nothing loads as far as icons and stuff, just like normal mode....also when i start it in normal mode no icons appear in the bottom right hand corner when usually lots do...still combobulated but thanks for the help so far ~j.p.s.

ok the deed is done, i just uninstalled Vuze and i am restarting my cp. so would you say that a mac is easier to manage than a pc...this is pretty off topic but why would one prefer a pc to mac? i just dont see it >.<

well you guys are faster than i thought...impressive i am using a hp dv2500 special edition with a intel centrino duo proccessor i think... the p2p file sharing program i have is Vuze...i use it to download music...music is to my life as gas is to a car...it is essential and i wouldn't be able to run without it. however i recently downloaded a video game iso file or something...a pc game desgined after one of my favorite authors: H.P. Lovecraft. however i need my computer for many things other than listening to music and i have a considerably large music collection of my own...i could have put the puzzle together when i download more crap my computer goes on the fritz! i have another question and a comment: a. is there anything to get rid of the "infection" i seem to have, and/or prevent malware from entering my cp... b. i will gladly uninstall my torrent program if it means i will never have to deal with this sort of thing again...its certainly not worth the time or effort of cleaning my cp everytime i download a bad file or whatever like i said before i can't get in to my cp, so i dont know how i would uninstall that program...i'd like to retain some of the documents and files i currently have storred on it if thats possible... one more question, would this happen to me if i had been using a mac? i hear they can't catch a virus...? MUCH appreciated ~j.p.s.

ok so i hate vist i hate it...its just horrible and i've had thousands of problems in the past,,,i use my computer alot, making videos, editing tracks, ebay, facebook, youtube...i have a huge music library...i can't take vista's crap any more...i'm buying a mac asap...but untill then i was wondering if anyone could help me sort out this problem i have... ok so it all started about a week or so ago when my cp would run into a blue screen of death every time i logged on...this was due to a faulty driver i installed trying to play a game. i tried many many many many ways to fix it but none worked, so i eventually just repartitioned the whole disk and lost ALL OF MY FILES...my dream journal my school documents EVERYTHING...now naturally i had a backup...but it wasn't updated so alot of my important information was just *poof* gone. i got vista running alright, i reinstalled avg an all my usuall programs but then lord behold BSoD AGAIN!!!! wtf is going on...i sure as hell didn't know this time. so i repartioned the disk AGAIN by this point i'm pulling my hair out with frustration and agony!!! once vista started up i went about the usuall program instalations...tihs time makeing sure to backup my files for a system restore point. as i keep downloading new software and programs my computer seems to be alright this time....then i download a video game from vuze...this may have something to do with it, i duno, i just know that now whenever i start my cp it just freezes..let me elaborate i start my cp, i'm just ****ed off at it i want to take a kitana and *slice* anyway i start my cp an its like "your cp was shutdown in an unsafe manner" or sum like that...so then i hit run normally/or run safe mode...it doesn't matter both ways it @$#% up in the same way...this is what happens once i type my password to log on... icons pop up, but are not fully loaded, my windows start bar just has that little blue cirlce piece of crap sayin its loading...i can't hit start or anything...my icons remain little white pieces of paper...they have not loaded...i can't run task manager i can't click any icons i can't even exit out of the safe mode start page...if i try to click on something my cursor just becomes a little blue cirlce...and even that little dumb @$$ blue circle freezes!!! like wtf i dont know wht to do or how to fix this...i've searched almost every page in your forums and everywhere else...its been like this for the past 2 days and i desperatly need my cp back...my whole life is run on it...o btw when i try to restore my disk to an earlier point it just tells me i need to scan my disk...and when i do that nothing happens,,,so frustrated so annoyed i need help...i dont have the vista startup disk i'm about ready to go office space on its ass and destroy it... plz if anyone out there cares about a kid an his cp help me out, i will return the favor in this life or the next...
