  1. i've been vague because im no expert, i've tried explaining the best way possible. Apart from help with my laptops virus, (eventually doing a system recovery) this forum ain't exactly overflowing with great advice. I've been on a painfully slow elimination process to sort this game installation problem out, the only real problem since i've had a computer, so i've asked a few different questions on here that could be related to this issue. I've had next to no advice from Hp or Konami. And scraps of info from the web in general.
  2. oh and tried the update for the Hp update software but didn't resolve the issue.
  3. i reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, and added the express version. But i'm still getting the same error, so it's probably another program problem. I noticed on other forums that MSxml errors can cause problems with game installations(still my ongoing problem), i noticed on my control panel there errors with mine. So i removed them. Is 4.1 sp built in with vista? can i reinstall the same version? thx
  4. spoke to Hp technician and they wasn't much help. is there a way to amend c++ errors? someone else mentioned install c++ variations from 2005, not sure what exactly
  5. i installed 7.11 but i then got a BSOD so i did a system restore a day back. I'm reluctant to install it again but i've this issue with a game i can't install correctly, ccc might be a solution...
  6. okay, so i've located net framework 3.0 already on my pc. i take it i don't have to enable/activate it. cheers
  7. Randy, i tried to extract Window Installer 3.1 but a message comes up 'Not enough storage is available to process this command.' Is there a certain place i should install. Cheers
  8. Hi i get this message from time to time, anyway to resolve this problem. Runtime error! Program: C:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update|HPWUCli.exe thx
  9. i could only dl and install ccc 7.11 which was out about the same time i got this pc. Do i need to install each update in chronological order? Would i have most of the driver updates (up into 8-11)anyway through the automatic updates my graphics driver is set up to recieve?
  10. definetly Vista. it's actually net 2.0 configuration sitting in 'administrative tools' so maybe it's not actually installed. How do i verify .net 3.0 is on my system? where will i find the actual file?
  11. well i assumed i needed it because i was still getting the same ''Catalyst Install Manager has stopped working' , but installed .net 2.0 and still getting the message. i tried to dl just the the display driver and the same thing...
  12. according to AMd installing the catalyst control center, .net framework 2.0 has to be installed on my pc, it's currently 1.1. is this a straight forward process getting it to 2.0 thx
  13. i removed catalyst control center and then downloaded a more recent one from the Ati website, i run it straight from there and install it but then a windows message comes up 'Catalyst Install Manager has stopped working' Is this right way to install? Thanks for the advice about reg cleaners.
  14. i still haven't managed to install correctly. I tried the advice. I contacted Hp and their advice was create a new user account and run it from that, no joy. Though Konami have finally got back to me, they needed more information so another email is due.. Someone mentioned they used a registry cleaner and updated some graphics card drivers to solve the same problem. thx
