ok i am having a problem, and am not sure of the cause. i just moved house where they have Virgin broadband (i think either 2mb or 10mb) and we are sharing between 4 people. sometimes the internet will just slow down (as if i have gone over the bandwidth download limit) but not all sites will load slowly. google will take about 30seconds to load. facebook about 6seconds. i can sometimes sign on msn messenger but there is huge lag between my msgs being sent (around 1minute normally but up to 10minutes at one point) i did the CMD then ping 'www.google.com' and i got 100% loss of packets and it just timed out all 4 times. even when i tried with facebook the same thing happened. this has been going on the past two days now...and its usually in the evening. could it be just that 4 people are using the internet...or is there another problem?? i am running vista and kaspersky internet suite is my AV. hi, yes i do have a firewall on. but it asnt affected me like this before, and my browsers seem to have access. i have kaspersky internet suite. the problem stopped for a while, and seemed like it was back to normal. now it has started again. i did install a game (fallout 3) but that was a good 6hours or so before the problem occured. and when it happened today again i had installed another program but again it was hours earlier than when the problem came up again.

hi im having a problem that just recently started. when i go onto a web browser (firefox, ie and chrome) some websites will not open, google, gmail i can get onto. and sites that are based in the uk such as bbc news and my university portal website. but others such as facebook and other pc help sites will not open. i went into the command promt and did the ping facebook.com etc and it worked fine. any idea what the problem is?? i am using a toshiba laptop with vista and am connected wirelessly.
