  1. It installed fine on my XP sp3 machine but Vista sp2 beta won't have it. :(
  2. I believe this is the update; Microsoft Download Center Search Results . KB960714, you will have to choose which browser and OS, to download the right one . This is in case it hasn't come up in Windows Update.
  3. That's not 'bad' at all. Including the settings for allowing certain cookies would also be helpful so as not to log one out of a site if login 'remembered'. Very good.
  4. I find this free program invaluable to the good running of my PCs. Piriform are supplying an excellent 'cleaning' program for free and , in my opinion, makes ATF obsolete. My suggestion is if it could be possible for a thread to be dedicated to the program showing tutorials of how to use the program safely, though in default mode it's never done anything but get rid of 'crap' on my machines. Thank you.
  5. Spybot 'immunises' against certain sites if I'm not mistaken. It's scanning is lacking I agree but it does block. Very rarely it will find things other antimalware programs miss and worth keeping in the arsenal.
  6. Personally I don't use or like Stopzilla or Regcure or XortSpySE. That is my personal preference though. Try installing and updating Malwarebytes' antimalware; Malwarebytes.org . If you don't want real time scanning then no need to pay. I'd also install, update and run Superantispyware; SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware! again no need to pay if real time scanning not required. I'd also uninstall the other programs. For 'blockers' I'd use Spywareblaster; SpywareBlaster | Prevent spyware and malware. Free download. and Spybot S&D; The home of Spybot-S&D!
  7. 'CCleaner is a most excellent program Sangfroid but lethal if used incorrectly, this is why we do not advocate it in the mainstream, so many registry entries may be corrupted by an incorrect use of this program.' I understand Wolfeymole but sometimes problems need to be cleaned up, something like your 'cleaner' that comes with your standard reply. I understand that any registry cleaner or defrag or even checkdisc programs can go wrong. Ccleaner comes with full help files but used in default mode certainly helps more than hinders. I respect the forum's views, though, that is why I did not include a link.
  8. May I suggest downloading CiD's own 'universal uninstaller' from their web page. Search the Web! . Go to section 4, paragraph 5. Download to your desktop. Download, install and update Superantispyware (if not already done). Start the PC in safe mode, usually by tapping F8, or F5 on some PCs, without internet connection and run the 'universal uninstaller'. Run SAS in full mode. Reboot and I would humbly suggest running Ccleaner to clean up after removing CiD. It has a mild registry cleaner and also cleans out temp files, cookies etc. It will also remove saved passwords which is a good thing I think.
  9. Possibly digging around will give some useless but interesting facts. Look at my previous post at the 'new' Time PC's and their 'flat panel' TV's. You might find similarly named people involved with the new business. There again, you might not.
  10. Plastic Nev , I was referring to the old Time machines. Very well built but the software was, well, lacking. Systems running fat32. Still, having said that, I have a 2002 Time pc tower still running as a third machine. It refuses to die!! Supanet must be a good ISP otherwise I'm sure you wouldn't use them. Time and Supanet, at that time, must have had a contract of supply. Dissapointing though that the thread starter has not replied yet. By the by, the 'new' Time company; Computers, Laptops and Plasma Screens from TimeUk.com
  11. It's taken a while to go through this thread. For the 25th of December; A Scotsman calls his son in London the day before Christmas Eve and says, 'I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough.' 'Dad, what are you talking about?' the son screams. 'We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,' the father says. 'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Leeds and tell her.' Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. 'Like hell they're getting divorced,' she shouts. 'I'll take care of this.' She calls Scotland immediately, and screams at her father, 'You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?' and hangs up. The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. 'Okay,' he says, 'they're coming for Christmas - and they're paying their own fares.' :D
  12. The old Tiny models had Supanet "integrated" (for want of a better word) in the system. If I remember correctly Tiny didn't allow Supanet in add/remove. I removed Supanet by using search, more advanced options and ticking the boxes for 'search system folders', 'search hidden files and folders' and 'search sub folders'. Typing Supanet into the 'all files and folders' box. I deleted all except any reference to documents. Now that there's Revo uninstaller it should make it easier :)
  13. Try Revo uninstaller. Just read the help files on the program and make sure you follow instructions. It's a very handy utility used wisely!; Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems . Please wait for a moderator or administrator to OK it first incase they advise otherwise. Good luck.
  14. Plastic Nev , thanks for your comments.
