Hi, The internet is still not working, however when i type the IP address for google the page for google does come up, but thats about it.

thats correct i now have no firewall or internet security running on my computer but i will give a try to tis program thanks

Hi Dalo Harkin, The computer is actually 5/6 yrs old, so this is quite a recent issue, the computer is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable and in fact when i turn on the computer it tells me that i am connected to the internet in the bottom right on the taskbar/tray but just cant seem to get access to the internet through IE7 or msn messenger or anything else that requires internet access. So i thought this couls be down to something blocking me from gaining access. Hope this helps and any support will be much appreicated. thanks

hi Seth and Tootech, Sorry for the delay, i finally got both the norton download tool and the super antispyware to run on my computer, however unfortunately neither worked. Is there anything else i can try? thanks

Hi Seth, how can i download the spyware programme on my computer that has no internet access.

Hi Tootech, thanks for your advice, but i'm just not sure how i can copy the dowload tool over to my poorly computer with no internet access, is there anything you can suggest i do? because what i've now noticed is that i cant even log onto msn messenger. I'm not sure if that was a problem that happened the same time i lost inetnet access or a recent thing.

i've managed to reset the settings but still have no luck acessing the web.

I have IE 7 and norton internet security 2009. However after having the problems with IE i tried to stop norton from running and ended up uninstalling it. So now i just have spybot as i require internet access to download norton again. i just really dont have a clue what to do, so thanks for any help./

Hi, i've been having a couple of problems with my internet. Whenever i open internet explorer i get the message "internet explorer cannot display the webpage". i have checked my connection to the internet and everything seems to be working fine, i even contacted my internet service provider and they could not find what the problem was. so i basically cannot connect to the internet on that computer however i can with my laptop and another computer we have in the house. So i'm not sure if there is something blocking the IE page from connecting to the internet. anyway any help would be appreicated. thanks
