  1. What does that mean?
  2. Thanks though to everyone that tried to help me out. I think the easiest way now for me is to buy a new external drive, they are not so expensive nowdays. Thomas
  3. Hello Goku! I tried your version also with the registry but that didn´t work either. In my device manager of DVD- CD- roms, I had two lines before with a ! mark. One was for the DVD and the other for the CD. Now I have one line with the DVD and four with the CD. All of them are marked with a ! mark. HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA -T20N ATA Device UHQ EJOXYFCHY SCSI CdRom Device UHQ EJOXYFCHY SCSI CdRom Device UHQ EJOXYFCHY SCSI CdRom Device UHQ EJOXYFCHY SCSI CdRom Device Thomas
  4. The sound is working great. I had twice a X-mark on my sound icon down in the right corner but it disappeared when I reboot my computer. Thomas
  5. Hello and a Happy New Year 2009! I was able to do the scans today due to lack of time, I took me about two hours to do them all. But the problem is still there , I can´t see my dvd station when I go to MyComputer. Could it be that simple that my dvd station is broken? Or could it be anything else? Thanks for your help! Thomas:(
  6. Hello, my explanation was a little bit too bad. I´m sorry about that. Yesterday I noticed suddenly that I hadn´t got any cd/dvd player at all. In the device manager there is a mark on the dvd/cd device. Besides on that there is also a mark on the network card and my newest problem for today is that I haven´t got any sound in my laptop anymore. The following devices has a mark: DVD-/CD Rom devices DVD (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA Device) CD (UHQ EJOXYFCHY SCSI CDrom Device) Network Cards: Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Could it be a virus? I have though Norton 360 installed. Thomas
  7. Hello, I have got the same problem as member jesushr3, my CD/DVD does not work. I have tried all the solutions you have suggested in this thread but none of them are working for me. When I tried the last solution to uninstall the IDE/ATA-ATAPI with something with the CD/DVD, the computer started to install and everything looked good but no. I still got the problem. Anything else I can do? When I try to update the drivers the computer says that I have the latest drivers. Thank you in advance! Thomas:confused:
