  3. Tried Restoring to a previous date no joy still shows no audio system and a warning sign against c-media ac97 tried to update drivers and I thought it was working but no luck. My computer is an Advent With an AMD Athlon processor 34001 240ghz 480mb ram
  4. What I was trying to do was to set the wireless security from a WEP code to a WPA code as the I pod touch does not like WEP setting. Which I have now done
  5. If I restore my computer to before I had the problems - say Christmas day would this affect my modem configuration? or would it reset everything? As at Christmas day there was no problems the only difference was the modem was set to WEP and not WPA If I reset do you think that the modem will reset too?
  6. That is why I am not keen on a system restore, it took a long time to fix the modem it had to be restored to original settings and it took an age to connect it to the computer as it would not recognise the modem. not sure what happened but I was trying to reset the security settings as my daughters I pod Touch woild not connect because it was WEP incoded (and it appears that the ipod touch does not like WEP) , then it all went haywire. That is how I disconected the sound drivers instead of the modem drivers. Anyhow all is working fine on that side now so you can see my reluctence.
  7. have deleted and restarted and it is still the same showing the device with the warning sign.
  8. On sound and devices the realtek has gone and on the drop down its none or windows default. I have tried to update drivers but it says that windows could not find a better match.
  9. Hi Yes there is a yellow triangle by the c-media AC97 Audio Device. I was trying to fix my modem yesterday and think I deleated the audio drivers as they were both Realtek When I go into Devices and onto drivers details there are some files there. I have tried looking on the driver detective site but it wants to update other drivers including my modem (and after the trouble I had with that yesterday) I am reluctant to do. does anyone have a solution for me please
  10. Hi I think I may have deleted my sound driver by mistake can anyone help please? Maggie
