hi the pc has no name or model as it was custom built by insurance company after old one got hit by lightning. yes it is running xp and i get one beep but not sure what you mean by when, i am a pc dummie

Hi All, Could someone please help when i turn my pc on i get a page come up saying that windows could not start as there is a software or hardware problem. after a load of other blurb it says i can start in either safe mode,safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, or start windows normally. I've tried every one of these but it just goes through the motions and comes back to the same page again. any ideas what i can do i have an OEM of windows so i don't have a disk with xp on
