Thanks for the quick replies, I'll try that. I forgot to add that his anti-virus seemed to have disappered so I installed Avast. A full scan found nothing.

Hi all, I'm trying to repair a friends machine, so far without success. No minimised windows are showing on the task bar. I can scroll through them with alt/tab. It's also very slow and various bits like the printer and network connection have disappeared. Here's the Hijackthis log. There are 2 entries for rundll32.exe, one in lower case, one in upper.
