  1. Just to let you know I have managed to successfully join and synchronise the video clips - it took a great deal of time and effort. I used some software called handbrake to standardise the frame rate and KBPS audio of the original clips. The clips synchronised by changing them all to a constant rate of 29.97 FRS and audio 96 KBPS and 44.1HZ. This speeded up the picture but kept the audio rate the same. It did not work at the lower rate of 25. I then rejoined them using some software called "Free VIdeo Joiner" and played the merged file through Windows Media Player, VLC and moviemaker and all seemed fine. Hope this helps some other members in the future experiencing such problems.
  2. Ok I will go back to the original nine clips and check them one by one and then remerge. l will let you know if this works.
  3. Thanks for the information and download links you provided yesterday. I read the articles you provided and downloaded Avidemux as that looked the most suitable for MP4 files sync. I played the joined video clip through VLR (after downloaded the player) to ascertain the MS delays required for each individual video clip which I joined together. Then I loaded the file into Avidemux and followed the instructions on the article about how to alter the delay. Once I had finished editing the file I saved it as per the instructions, but when I played it back Avidemux had applied the last delay setting (+2300ms) to the whole video. I have tried the process a number of times and seem to get the same result when played back in Avidemux, VLR or Windows Media Player. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. My interpretation of the instructions is that you have to play the video through from start to finish in playback mode then pause and edit when you reach each different clips and that you cannot skip through the video and edit without playing in playback mode - Is this correct??
  4. Thanks for you post. I used moviemaker as you suggested to join the video clips together. This was successful and worked well and is now a 31 minute video. However when I played the video back after joining the various clips together, the audio and video are now out of sync on the filep that moviemaker created. It gets more and more out of sync the longer the video is played. How can I sychnronise the audio with the video properly for the entire 30 minute clip. Any help or suggestions would be most welcome
  5. I need some help on how to join and synchronise (audio and picture) some video clips together into one file. The files in question are all in MP4 format but have different frame rates/bitrates as they have come from a number of different sources. I have never done any video editing and dubbing before so is it possible to combine these files together so that the sound and picture are synchronised. Is there any simple, free video editing software out there that can do these procedure. Any advice help on hoiw to do this would be most welcome.
  6. Thanks for your response - it is a HP laptop computer. Not sure what the next steps are? Is it something I have to live with until it completely fails?
  7. Thanks for your response - have cleaned the lens - can now burn music; however all is not still well. When I put in the blank cd-r, ensuring that the disk is formatted as an audio cd,then after compiling my burn list I click "start burn" and everything now works normally. Looks and sounds like it is writing all the data onto the blank disk, no error messages appear, everything seems to work ok and the disk is ejected. I checked the disk and can clearly see that the music files have been burned onto the cd-r. I then put the disk back into the drive and it asks me to format the disk - it appears to think that it is a blank disk that is being inserted. My cd player seems to be able to read and play the cd-r ok, not windows media player. I have tried it on vlr as well without success. I am able to play older music cd-rs perfectly well, but not any that have been burned in the last few days. Any further ideas?
  8. I cannot seem to burn music files onto cd-rs anymore using windows media player. I can still play some old cds that I burned using windows media player. Old cds that I burned can still be ripped using windows media player. Also some of the cds burned in the last few days can no longer be played using on my pc as they cannot be read. However they can be played ok on my cd player? is this a software issue? Is my dvd/cd disk drive broken? any help greatly appreciated!!!!
  9. I have installed the software over the weekend and all seems ok thus far. Thanks for all your help. Will let you know if it happens again.
  10. Thanks for this - I will install these and see if this cures the problem - I will let you know the results.
  11. It only seems to appear when I watch a video clip on sites like you tube on IE. When using Firefox it does not appear. I have run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware this morning and it found some 15 PUP files with little green bugs. It has now quarantined and removed these items . I checked by running it again and the items did not reappear - Was this the cause? I have Norton Internet Security 2013 and Malwarebytes on my PC. I used to have ATF Cleaner and Super Antispyware on my old PC. I have not loaded these onto my new pc as I was not sure whether they are compatible with Windows 7 64 bit operating system. I do not have Avast on my PC. Are the messages that appear the some form of tracking cookie embedded into the file to track your movements online? Can they be blocked ?
  12. I hope somebody can help me. When I go into internet explorer and load a website I keep getting the following message on my screen: "Do you want to open or save tags.js from tags.expo9.exponential.com" - what does this mean? Has my pc been infected and if so how do remove this from my pc? Any help would be appreciated Thanks
  13. Thanks for this. I have followed your instructions and this has cleared the old corrupted windows media library and rebuilt a new one which seems to work ok.
  14. Thanks for this. In the meantime I have also run windows troubleshooter on my pc for the media player . it says that my music library is corrupted. This seems to be the problem indentified. How do I fix this?
  15. Thanks for this. Tried what you suggested and the file names are still present and now another one album that I ripped into window media player this morning is doing the same ie it is still showing in windows media player but doesn't exist in my music Any further suggestions??
