  1. Have got the system together just now (don't know how it started to work) but the mouse keeps stuttering now. Is this something to do with the RAID, cpu, motherboard or what do you think? Thanks
  2. Have just tried other GFX card...still the same result. Have tried a single stick of RAM, and have swapped them about...no difference. Have set up using the basics but still nothing. Monitor is ok as I'm using it at the moment on my old and not very functional PC. can I tell anything from the lights on the motherboard? Do you think that it may be a RMA situation? Any other suggestions? Thanks
  3. I found the power cables, but alas no success was made. The power puts the fans on only. I have since taken the motherboard out of the machine and set it on a anti-static mat. I then plugged in every cable for the basic items and tried starting it again. Just the same...fans start up ok but nothing on the monitor. I then dismantled the Heatsink and CPU but and studied the processor and where it sits. I cannot see anything wrong there. Does not look like there are any bent pins or anything. I really don't know what I should do next. There are LED's on the motherboard, do they tell me anything that is wrong with the system? Please help!
  4. Yes these are the ones I can't find. Have looked everywhere. I think that I will have to re-assemble the whole machine now if I can't find them.
  5. I can find the pins on the motherboard I need, but the pins to fit there from the case are nowhere to be found. It's really frustrating and I think I will need to dismantle the whole thing and re-assemble before I can correct any fault. The graphics card is installed correctly in the first slot. I have a Collermaster Real Power 850W power supply. Thank you for your help
  6. I've just built a new machine tonight. The specs are: * Intel Core I7 920 2.66GHz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) Processor * Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard * 2 OCZ 60GB SSD's * BFG GeForce GTX 285 OC 1024MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDMI PCI Express - Retail with PhysX, CUDA & 3D Stereo * Coolermaster Stacker 832 case 1) The first issue is that I cannot find out what pins go where. Does anyone know of a diagram. The only spare cables I seem to have are audio? 'hd audio', 'AC 97' plus on the same wiring a bunch of single socket pins??? 2) I note that the machine can start from the internal switch but there is no monitor, monitor just goes to standby. Basically I no longer know what I'm doing with this and need help. I'm starting to panic now.
  7. Forgot to say that I will also be imaging the RAID disk onto one of my spare 1TB drives, so that hopefully should help out with any failure issue.
  8. I'm setting up a new system (tomorrow hopefully) with the following motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard Core i7 1366 Support, 6400MHz FSB, Triple Channel DDR3 Support, 8x SATA, RAID, 12x USB2.0, FireWire, 7.1 HD Audio, Crossfire/SLI Support, Dual Gigabit Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. Can anyone tell me how to set up my two OCZ SSD drives in a RAID 0 setup? I'm feeling a little stuck as to how to start doing this. Thanks
  10. I will be using the computer mostly for my photo editing/dtp. But will be starting to move into some video editing as well. I am very unsure of fitting separate components. Is it difficult? Thanks Mantona
  11. I'm building a new system (going to try to build a new system I should say) and need to know what the difference between these motherboards are. They are all within my budget but I am really not sure as to whether the most costly one will give me better performance or not? Motherboard Bundle AMD Phenom 8750 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan Foxconn A7VMX AM : MBB-87502G Motherboard Bundle Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan MSI Intel : MBB-P45842 Motherboard Bundle Intel Core 2 Duo Q8200 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan MSI Intel : MBB-P45Q82 I appreciate any comments you can give me.
