help dirtypolo, i rebooted laptop and reseted my router but again i cannot connect on the internet. Goku, i could connect to the internet on saturday night, then on sunday morning i could not connect to the internet. i tried to connect with my home computer and this was ok. i dont think i need to set up a new connection, i have checked and my wireless network connection is connected (signal strength is excellent). i do not think i made any changes, the last thing i was doing on saturday night was downloading from bittorrent but the file had no seeds or leechers so i deleted the files i wanted to download (dont know if this helps), i tried to go online the next day (sunday morning)and couldnt connect(i know that bittorrent involves ip addresses and we have been working on ip addresses with my problem, could this be a factor?). basically, i can go online with my home computer, but i cannot go online with my laptop even though my wirless connection is good. i tried to explain to beeceebee yesterday, there is a little globe which appears on the bottom right of my screen, and when this globe is there i know i am online. this globe is not there and has not been since sunday morning. i have typed in ipconfig.txt and a lot of information comes up. i cannot get that info to you other than typing it myself i guess i will type it down. here goes C:\Windows\system32> C:\Windows\system32>C:\Windows\system32>ipconfig/all>>desktop/iconfig.txt The system cannot find the path specified C:\Windows\system32>The system cannot find the path specified. rebooted again and definitely still no internet connection

there is usually a little globe on the icon which means i am online but there is no such globe at all

when i run the mouse over the network icon it says currently connected to unidentified network, but i still get no internet connection.

ok set laptop ip to automatic

on the laptop, the address is NOT automatic on my home computer the address is checked as automatic

i went into its properties and the automatic tab was already clicked

ip address for home pc is 192.168.2.2 so its different, should i still change it to automatic?

the 'obtain an ip adress atuomatically' is NOT checked. 'Use the following IP adress' is checked the IP address is 192.168.2.1 subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

wireless network connection properties? i can see ipv4(tcp/ipv4) properties. is this what you mean? dont give up on me lol

where do i find that exactly? could u be more specific
