  1. Im using a 8600gt (RRP £40) and i don't really have trouble playing games (excluding farcry 2 etc)
  2. Your processor is below the minimum (2ghz) they say you need to run it, There is your problem. :p
  3. have a read through: Create a Profile Tutorial Might help
  4. It seems to have disapeared...It was there an hour ago, and now it isnt. Ive disabled one on start up (the other having similarly disapeared)...Now im a little worried.
  5. That makes so sense at all :P Try making the resolution as small as possible. (simply smaller resolution = easier to run) I do the same with crysis to get a nice smooth game, should work the same with halo2 **Make sure the game is set to run in windowed mode** Make a shortcut and right click it and choose properties, put a space after the last in the "target" box, and paste: +r_width 800 +r_height 600 This makes the game run in 800x600 try it and see if its laggy Then make it 400x300 etc etc to see if it fixes the problem. If it does then the issue is your computer, not the internet.
  6. Try downloading Xpadder: Xpadder Free Download and Reviews - Fileforum Its a program that lets you indivually set what each button/stick does, and even replace the mouse. I use it for my 360 controller, not so sure if it will work for you but you could give it a go.
  7. I followed those steps afew days ago and it didnt find it. If i know where it is cant i put it in virus vault or delete it or something? Should i disable it on startup?
  8. http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/9683/58614695to3.jpg http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/58614695to3.jpg/1/w541.png Hope that works...Not sure
  9. I recently noticed some items in the startup tab in msconfig ive never seen before: winn32 (Unknown manufacturer) command Appdata/roaming/win32.exe {Lots of numbers/letters} (Unknown manufacturer) command Appdata/roaming/win32.exe Microsoft® Windows® Operating system (Manufacter Microsoft Corporation) command Windowsmediaplayer\WMPNSCFG.exe Any info on what they are and if i should disable them would help
  10. Ive run their uninstaller, il see if problem is fixed Pc specs: Quad core 2.4ghz 4GB ram Lots of space on hard drive.
  11. The fact it runs smooth in single player doesnt mean that the internet connection is the problem. Online having a lot of people running around can be a real strain on your pc. Similarly the fact it lags on every server makes me think the same. Join a internet game with just a couple of people and see if its the same.
  12. Ive done all the scans suggested and it found a couple of things but that isnt the problem. Going back to my question, could some parts of bitdefender still be installed and running? During the uninstall there were a couple of problems so im a little suspisious of that.
  13. "Sphere.... CTRL+ ALT+ DELETE on the desktop... how many processes are running?" 47 processes (6 of which are avg related) What info would you like? I have a high spec pc so assume that isnt the problem.
  14. Im not sure if "start up" is the correct phrase, the time between you selecting your profile and it being ready. It used to take around 3 seconds, but now it is more like 1 minute. I have a suspision Bitdefender could be the cause. I had it installed but after being told by windows it was taking 36 seconds to start up i decided to replace it with AVG. However after uninstalling the time didnt improve and afew days later i recieved the same message saying bitdefender is causing a slow start up (after uninstall) Is it possible some could still be installed and trying to run, or could you give some advice on speeding up "startup" P.S - Ive disabled thins is msconfig, checked for virus, defragged etc. Thanks
