No Hardware or software changes. I did move the desktop box around but didn't bang it or anything. before this happened i got the blue checkdisc screen which i let go through the process and then it worked fine. then when i tried to reboot the next day. it would only let me get as far as i mentioned above. very frustrating:confused:

Hi I am running XP Prof and have a problem booting. When i try to boot it goes straight the black screen asking which mode i want to boot in (safe mode, normal mode etc) when i try any of these it goes to the xp logo page for a couple of seconds, then just stops and trys to reboot which means it just goes back to the black, pick a boot mode page. I have tried to change the bios settings so it reboots from the DVD drive first, and have put the XP disc in, but makes no difference - same thing happens. Any help will be much appreciated
