  1. hi mate just to clarify the points u mentioned. 1. the aol account im accessing is a free email account.aol is not my broadband provider. 2. im not sure on this mind, but i think my vista came with media player 10 i think when i tried to upgrade to 11 it caused problems. on my user account on the computer its still working fine and so did it on all 3 other users until recently. 3.just to clarify i checked the internet settings on ie 7 i have no aol programmes on my computer. 4. i apologise for this one, the2 updates are both KB908002 NOT WHAT I STATED EARLIER!!.it says they are for shared add in extensibility for NET 2.0 frramework and a support add in for NET2.0 framework. what i cant understand is that in the programs and features display panel ,theses updates are not in the windows update panel but 2 programs in the main box. i cant uninstall them as an error message pops up when i try saying that it is a network resource and is unavailable.in the INSTALLED UPDATES panel they are not showing up as installed programmes. 5.up untill a few weeks ago i had mcafee installed but it expired. recently i downloaded windows one care center on a free trial.but i have uninstalled it as i thought this programme may have caused the problem.i also have ad-aware anniversary edition installed but no other malware program at present. hope this sheds some more light on the problem...many thanks!!!
