  1. I finally found the solution! I used my brother copy to install Vista(to try) and see if downloads work. He also got the academic version. I tried the downloads and they worked perfectly! The downloaded application installation went smoothly and the UAC shows the specific publisher! Then I returned my copy of Vista and they(Challenger) helped me test my copy before giving me a new one. Now, all the downloads worked perfectly! I thank you guys for all the advice!
  2. I am a Singaporean so I bought it from Challenger. It was a DVD. And yes, I chose the clean install button while installing the OS. After installing the OS, I allowed it to install all updates(Sp1 included) and drivers before backing it up with Norton Ghost 14.0. If you want a complete procedure of how I installed my OS, here it is: Install Vista Install all relevant drivers(I used my motherboard disk to install drivers) and updates(SP1 included) BackUp with Norton Ghost Install all applications that I need BackUp Install Anti-virus That's what I did after I installed Win Vista.
  3. Well my desktop was home-built, so i do not know any model or such. The details are as follows: Motherboard: MG-0630I-7159(XFX nforce 630i/geforce 7150) Graphic Card: Nvidia GTX260 896MB RAM:Fatal1ty 4GB RAM(Two slots of 2 GB) HDD: 1. Hitachi 160GB(Primary) 2. Maxtor 70GB (Secondary) And since my Vista Home Premium was a upgrade type, I deleted my primary(Hitachi one) partition and installed Windows XP Home on it. After installation was done, I immediately installed the Vista Home Premium.
  4. Every time i try to install a program, for instance nvidia's graphic drivers,on my desktop, I always get a corrupt installation on the installation. I tried redownloading the application and installing it countless times but to no avail. But, when I download it from the same site with my laptop and transfer it using a thumbdrive, I can install it perfectly. The only difference between the desktop's installation file and the laptop's installation file is that my desktop's installation file, when i double-clicked it, is that the UAC will prompt that the installation file shows an "unspecified publisher" while my laptop's installation file displays "Nvidia Corporation". I also tried to reinstall my OS, which is Vista Home Premium, but the problem still exists. How can I remove this problem? I hate having to transfer files between my laptop and my desktop frequently. Also, is this a hard disk problem?
