1. OK . after changing router over to spare one seems to be almost back to normal now for a day and a bit , just occasionally have to kill browser and then reloads straight away. (usually BBC weather  ) A little annoying with hours spent on it resetting , but quite nice having clean install of win10 again anyway i suppose. :) Thanks for help Cheers Kev http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/icon_bananas.gif
2. Hi Ken Have just set it up now to try quickly before work and now everything seems pretty much as it should (even Edge is working !!) but not going to get too excited till i check it out properly later tonight Will update you later. Cheers Kev
3. Thanks for checking Ken. Have tried Edge FF and IE .... FF does generally seem better but still not great. Seemed strange after resetting modem and router that loading was almost spot on for 15mins or so then gradually slowed up again. Simple pages like google are instant and speed test is pretty good. Will try spare router tonight to check and maybe call plusnet... Cheers Kev

5. Hi :D After reading plusnet website i've found that turning of the openreach modem as well as the router in the correct order and back on again seems to have brought my web browsing back to life again !!! Havent turned wifi back on yet for other devices but hopefully looking good now Thanks for your help guys ! Cheers Kev
6. After waiting 30sec for page to load the speedtest shows good results?? :S Have tried Edge FF and IE
7. Yep ;) Also other devices seem comparatively ok but are fairly low powered compared to the new pc and possibly wouldn't notice it. Packet loss seems to be something mentioned on various sites , not exactly what this is or what causes it ..... could this be a reason speedtest is fine but connecting to site isn't? Cheers Kev

9. Hi Ken At work now but speedtest.net gives around 38mb/18mb from 40mb/20mb max so no problem. It just seems to almost struggle to reach and connect to whatever site . I assume some sites are faster if cache has same content. PlusNet does give a resetting procedure i'll try first , just strange changing the cable between router and openreach modem did help a fair bit. Cheers Kev
10. Just a quick update.... Reset for windows 10 went fine just have a local admin and a local standard account. All offline stuff working as quick or quicker than before. Then i got onto webpages which still seem to be stubborn to load , intermittently or occasionally not at all .. Really struggled to login to email in outlook (office 365) but did get there in the end.... very stressed at the end of a Saturday night in front of the screen.. Today i remembered i had a spare router but also remembered ethernet cables deteriorating and causing problems on my work pc so tried changing the one between the BT fibre box and the router. ( as ethernet or wireless didnt make any difference to the pc) This has seemed to improve things but tonight have still had some odd sites struggling to load all content. I might try the spare router tomorrow night . Does this seem a strange one or could there be something hardware wise i could check , phone fibre provider or something else ?? Cheers Kev
11. Hi Ken Thanks for reply . I am thinking now I might just do a refresh or reset as there are a few things that haven't gone quite to plan with Win 10 which should wipe out most baddies I assume... Cheers Kev
12. Hi Have 6 month old pc that runs very quick with ssd and win10 , a week ago started to get slow loading webpages and some not at all. Have used defender which did find TrojanDownloader:O97M/Donoff on my wifes user and cleaned it and then nothing after or on MWB . PC is generally running as fast as ever and fibre is coming in at 40/20mb . Any suggestions would be great thanks... http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/scratchhead.gif Cheers Kev
13. Hi Have had new win10 desktop pc a couple months now and all of a sudden my photos aren't viewable and live tile isn't working on start menu.. and a window pops up with "element not found " as attached. Seems to be just my user (live account) which seems more strange. Cant think of anything that I have done recently to make this happen either.?? Any help would be appreciated http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png Cheers Kev
14. Thanks for the idea Nev ,not sure if warranty might be a prob though. Cheers Kev
15. Thanks Ken I did almost decide to go with that one from the pro reviews but there are so many bad user reviews about noise ... Seems a bit silly to try it even , but as you say could be a fw dodgy units. RM series is almost 100% positive ... Cheers Kev
