  1. Hi It stays blank until the windows welcome logo appears and then displays normaly, however it now will not display anything. Connecting to an external screen via the output port on the rear of the laptop shows the display working correctly.
  2. Hi That is correct, but I have tried downloading the drivers from Dell, but it has made no difference. At this time, the display output to the laptop screen has failed completly, but output to an external screen via the rear port is fine. Looks like a motherboard issue ?
  3. Hi The alternative display screen in my case meant a spare Dell Laptop screen. The seperate monitor used, was my PCs monitor which I connected to the laptop by way of a rear port. It was a non-functioning laptop due to a blown chip located near to the AC input connector Hope this clarifies the situation. Nb. The display has now failed completly on the laptop screen, but output is fine on external monitor.
  4. Hi All My Dell Inspiron 2200 Laptop which i bought as a non-working example, is now up and running, but has one problem. When you boot up the screen stays blank and does not show the Dell Logo or the initial Windows start up screen. It does come on at the point when the cursor would appear and then display shows as normal. I have tried an alternative display screen which I know is good, but again it stays blank until the point mentioned above. If I connect to a seperate monitor, the display starts from boot up without problem. WinXP Media Centre Edition 1.60Ghz Centrino CPU 512Mb Ram 40G H/Drive
