KenB Never have I mentioned that Ned wasn't 'allowed' to post here. You are entitled to your opinion as am I. If nobody replied when they didn't agree with 'tone or content' then there would be little, if any, debate. It was his lack of response to my opinions that makes me think he is an antagonist. As no one else has replied why did he not agree/disagree? Reason? He wants to see an argument, not a debate in my opinion.

You are obviously an antagonist. I see why others haven't replied. Go troll elsewhere.

Yo Ned. First off I think dual citizenship should be abolished. Unfortunately you sound like so many of the politicians that refuse to accept democracy. For your information, the result was clear, it was to leave. Your tax referendum analogy is ludicrous, it is in no way vaguely similar. There have been many attempts to change the ways the EU ride roughshod over citizens but none have, or ever will be, successful. The only answer is to get out. Folk with bigoted views still don’t get it. The people have had enough. I don’t like Trump but was so glad when he beat that dirty liar Clinton. He is by far the lesser of two evils. Another protest vote. Scotland would only vote to leave the UK after ‘some time’ if the UK were doing real bad after ‘Brexit’, but I believe we will do fine. In any case, they don’t even have a plan for leaving. They think they can use the GBP (B = British) as currency when they won’t be part of Britain? Sturgeon is a demented, racist bigot. If we do well, others will follow and the EU will implode, and not a moment too soon. The only reason 'Brexit' is such a mess is because those that are meant to do our bidding have done their best to thwart it. Had article 50 been triggered within days of the result the job would be done and we may well be on our way to being 'Great' Britain once again. Unfortunately May was a weak, lilly-livered excuse of a ‘leader’. The reason for me voting leave was simple. No one had ever voted to join the EU. That’s not democracy. Those in power have only been elected by themselves and they are answerable to no one but themselves. That’s not democracy. It is a dictatorship. Stating that folk didn't know what they were voting for is delusional. How can you, or any of the like minded politicians, possibly know what people voted for? I know what I thought I was voting for, to leave the EU in it's entirety. No deal, no 'hard' or 'soft' 'Brexit'. There is of course no such thing as either. To leave means to have no ties. No restrictions. You cannot partially leave something. If you wish to leave, a room for instance, and still have so much as a little toe in it then you haven't left. It is unlikely that we will ever leave which means me, and millions like me, will never vote again. We are told over and over again that the only way to change things you don’t agree with is to use your vote. Clearly that is a lie. No matter what any one’s views are, or how they voted, every one should now be very concerned. Democracy has been ignored by those that are meant to do our bidding.

Well, obviously the 'receive e-mail notifications' hasn't worked for me. None in junk either. Anyway, thanks for the replies. Rustys All settings were changed in the router. It's not interference. It's as though there is no wireless as soon as I turn the secondary router on. I've tried the auto channel option. TonyD Every tutorial I have seen says to connect the main router to the slave router LAN to LAN. Only the main router needs the internet feed. It is then shared via LAN. This is the tutorial I followed. It is the exact same router and firmware I am trying to use. Cheers N.B. forgive me if I take a while to get back. As I mentioned, the notification isn't working for me. I've unwatched the topic and rewatched checking the and receive e-mail notifications again so hopefully it will work this time.

Hi all. I have a wireless dead spot in the house. I have a spare D’Link DIR615 router. I have a ethernet cable running from the back of my Vodafone router into the loft. I accessed the D’Link, went to wireless manual settings, and entered channel 6 (Vodafone is on 13), identical SsiD, identical security, identical password. Went to LAN, unticked DHCP and entered a static ip of 192.168.1.50. Changed router password and saved settings. Took the router into the loft and plugged in and connected the ethernet to one of the four ports. I can see one wireless option with the correct SSID but all that happens is devices are searching but never connect. When I unplug the D'Link all devices connect fine. Have I missed something/done something wrong? Ta.

I suggest you read the rules yourself. I haven't asked for any help whatsoever regarding p2p. It is you that brought up the subject. I think it is a shame that you feel the need to point out (twice) that threads have been closed due to requests about p2p, i read the rules and was prepared to abide by them. Please don't feel that i deserve anything, i have nothing to hide and how i use p2p is up to me, be it to put my large collection of vinyl to cd (much easier than transfering via a usb turntable) or download the many legal podcasts and talking books available. Yes you can argue that in using p2p, even legally, is keeping the networks going, the problem is, they will never be stopped, it is the future and until we all embrace it the pirates will have a place to hawk their wares. Opportunity missed. (so far). Hmmm, a type of blackmail, you stop using p2p, we will help, otherwise bye bye. I will never stop using p2p as it is perfectly legal, it is a sad world where people shy away from the inevitable. Thanks for the help i was given anyway. Cheers.

It was a Magic ISO virtual drive which i must have added accidentaly. I have p2p'd for years and am very careful how i use them and always check files before opening. I know there is a possible danger of infection and that is why i run a check at least once a week, i'm using Advanced System Care at the mo but i do wonder wether all this registry cleaning etc is good for computers. I'm checking processes at the mo to see if there is anything untoward lurking in the background. Do you know of a good site for checking what is what? Most of them tell you a bit then try to get you to buy something. I don't know what you mean by hardware disappearing?? it was only the scanner and i wrote that that was my mistake, i hadn't plugged it in. If worse comes to worse i will have to format, it has been several years since i built this thing and it may be time for a clear out.

Deleted the extra dvd players from device manager, one was a virtual drive and lordy knows what the other was but they have gone. I have two drives now, as it should be. As for the scanner, i can't find that anywhere. It isn't in device manger and when i look in cameras and scanners via control panel the cupboard is bare??? Ha ha ha, my mistake, i hadn't plugged the stupid thing back in, NOW when i look in cameras and scanners the scanner is there!! BTW, when i just plugged it back in, that is the first time today that it started up when it should do.
-
Yes, it's just a scanner and no i don't see an icon appear. It doesn't just start when i open 'my computer' i just tried it now, i opened nero start smart, clicked to add a video file and yo, the scanner buzzed into life, it doesn't open a page onto my screen it just gets ready to roll. Things are getting stranger and it appears that it is hard to find the problem, no one knows the answer but it is a computer so............... Hey, i've just looked in 'my computer' and there are two DVD drives that i don't possess?? I unplugged the scanner and they are still there, i unplugged my usb hub, they are still there, how can this be and where have they come from?? Too many weird things going on here.
-
Well, here i am again. New error code, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONE_PAGE_AREA STOP: 0x00000050 ( 0xFFC0585C, 0x00000001, 0x8054BBB4, 0x00000000 )
-
Plugged the scanner back in, no start up noise, opened 'my computer', the scanner booted up? Why is the scanner associated with things like my computer and other things that are nothing to do with it? Cheers.
-
Well, there you go, never trust a manufacturers website. They scanned my computer and gave me the wrong driver. All appears ok now, i shall plug my scanner back in and see how we go. I have a sneaking suspision that 'i'll be back'!! Cheers

Just checking again on the nvidia site. I used their scan option to tell me which i needed, perhaps this was a mistake?

Hmmm, got problems here. Downloaded the new driver (182.50 geforce winxp32bit NVIDIA Corporation ) to my desktop. I uninstalled the old display drivers from add remove (i had a box pop up and chose 'remove display drivers only') was this correct? Restarted my comp as instructed. Double clicked the driver icon, it said it had installed it. Rebooted, it is still as if there is no driver installed and when i look in device manager i have a yellow exclamation next to my display adapter??

Downloading the latest driver now. Do the latest drivers uninstall the existing or do i still need to remove the old driver before installing the new?
