Oh i forgot and i have checked the device manager and it says that the prots and usb controllers are working fine, also i can use any other sort of usb device like printers it just seems to happen with the flash drives, i even bought a brand new one, that head not been used in any other machine to try with the same result Thanks Goll

Drives Hi Firstly thak you for a quick response I have tried various drives from maxtor to sony to unbranded ones the same happens with all of them I have tried using all the 4 usb ports i have on the machine and again the same happens with all of them, Thanks Goll

Hi i hope someone can help me, i have a pc using xp home, i seem to be having a problem using usb flash drives, i can use any other sort of usb device without issue but when i try to us ea usb flash drive it freezes the system, i have tried various types an sizes of flash drive all with the same result. Can anybody shed any light on whats going on. Thanks in advance Goll
