Desktop. ADSL modem at the moment. Drive functions normally but disconnects the internet immediately. I don't know what cable it uses (and I don't know the difference between IDE & SATA!), sorry.

Hi there, Can anyone please help me? My internet connection always cuts out if I use my disc drive for anything (playing an audio cd, installing a program etc). I have to then restart the PC as it won't reconnect. I really need to sort this out now, as I am trying to set up a wireless connection and I have to use a CD-ROM to set it up, and I need to maintain a connection whilst going through the process. Any ideas? I would be most grateful to have this resolved...
