Just a reponse to the last reply to this topic: http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/malware-removal-av-firewalls-etc/7504-really-weird-blue-screen-death-problem.html#post53659 lol for some reason i knew i'd get replies like this.........as long as i mention the word "warez", i knew ppl will come shouting at me about this or that. First of all, i'm not advertising or posting any warez, so that's fine. I simply answer to ur question, that's it. Ya my software are illegal/cracked, but it doesn't mean they definitely cause problems. I have been in the warez community far too long to know this, and this i am 100% certain. Never had i have any problems with downloaded games/movies/programs fail me. They work just the same as a proper legal version, that's why piracy is so huge around the world. And i'd like to think i'm an expert at this area so having illegal softwares definitely didn't cause my problem, coz i've been using them for years. And again i stress, my problem only popped up recently. And i am using a legit copy of XP. For Vista, I use a workaround to bypass the activation by i'm defintely using a proper version of XP. And even custom XP are legit coz they are homemade/selfmade so that's acceptable. How would u like me to proof it to u anyway? By giving you my product key so that others can use it? I don't think so. I've reinstalled windows using the same product key about 4 times already and i only have one more use left. If u didn't know, u can only use the same product key about 5 times, after that u'll have to purchase a new one. But even if i give u the product key as proof, u might even say i use WGA validation cracks etc.........which i do have as well......lol. In fact, a simple registry can make Windows legit, and yet it's funny how u said i don't know anything about registry. I can even attach the registry code and let u check it urself and see if it works or not. I can show u all forms of proof on screenshots but heck once we've started talking about this other than the problem itself, it's pointless. Thanks for the help anyway, at least i've got replies from other forums lol. BTW, there's nothing really better to learn about the "truth" about computers other than the piracy etc........it's the truth. Piracy is all around you, you can't deny it.

oh sry forgot to answer that too. It's not custom install or setup, it's custom XP. Basically it's just a customized or homemade/selfmade version of XP. Most custom XP are stripped from useless crap and often have performance enhancements and tweaks added so they're very lightweight and fast. I have made my own using Nlite or Almeza MultiSet. I'm not sure i should say this but if u go to warez forums, u can find tons of custom XP to download. All the ones i've used are way faster and better than the original XP. Most of them are around 200MB or less and takes literally 5 mins to install and they are CRAZY fast, i can run heaps of programs without lag on my crappy old PC with only 512mb ram and it's just amazing how fast it runs compare to using a normal XP....... Anyway my laptop is running the original XP, not custom. Only my gaming PCs are running the custom XP which only uses 32MB of system ram. But anyway, i've never had a problem with custom XP and like i said, my laptop isn't using it so it can't be the problem. As for where I get my programs which all of them are in full version, i get most of them from warez forums. If u want, i can PM u tons of websites. I get free movies, games etc all from it. Or, u can use Torrents. Or, there're websites that give out shareware programs with serial keys for free, and i don't believe those are warez websites so i'll post one here EDIT: Link removed.

Actually, i do understand most of the stuff related to registry, I know how to write registry files and understand most of the terms. Heck, I even edit registry values on my Windows Mobile to tweak it so that it performs better or enable certain options I need. I backed up my registry file as well, I backup every 2 weeks. I restored the registry back to say last month but the problem still happens, so i doubt it's the registry. BTW, i didn't have this problem last month. And i tried restoring to say LAST YEAR, and problem still there. As for my programs, they are all currently disabled or not running, only Avast antivirus is so i don't think they can cuase the problem. And as for my drivers, i make backups of them and always keep up to date, so i have already reinstalled them and still the problem occurs. The problem isn't that i can't boot into windows, coz rite now i'm using the laptop to type this. I can use it perfectly fine, it's just that this problem occurs SOMETIMES throughout the day. I've been on this laptop for the past 4 hrs and left it on to download some files since morning and it's still working fine. So it definitely boots into windows OK...... Right now, i'm using Acronis Partition Manager to create an exact backup of my Hardrive, as well as Paragon Drive Backup and Haren's Boot CD to create the hardrive backup in case one of them doesn't work that well since i've never tried them. But i really hope there's another way to fix this, coz i've had a virus problem before and some guy told me to reinstall windows. HELL, mostly every solution i get is reinstall windows when i actually fixed it myself by finding the virus and manually deleting it. There was no need to reinstall windows.

BTW it's kinda weird that I can only edit my post within 5 mins......it's stupid coz then after 5 mins, ppl can only post another one which makes that double posting and it's messy.........a stupid limitation IMO. Anyway, I don't wanna reinstall XP. There're too many stuff I need to setup and configure, i've been through a lot of this be4 and it's annoying. I've installed literally hundreds of XP, including custom ones i've made or downloaded and i'm used to it, some custom XP only takes literally 5 or 6 mins to install and setup. But for my laptop, it's another case, I really have too many important stuff on it and I need it everyday so i can't just simply reinstall everything in one night or in a couple of days..... if it were on my PC, i would've done this ages ago, coz ur rite, it does solve problems quicker. BTW, i appreciate ur help, not trying to argue with you either.

@RandyL, ya but those softwares aren't drivers.........the only drivers I keep up to date are my graphics card, sound and USB devices. And I just disabled Bitdefender and did a restart, same problem still occurs. Yes i'm running Internet Download Accelerator 5.17 build 5 (full version). Please don't tell me that's the problem coz it's definately not, it boosts my download speed from 170KB/s to 1.7MB/s, it's really awesome. And btw having those programs installed is one thing, having all of them running is another. I only run Bitdefender & Avast for real time protection, sometimes using Ccleaner every now and then to clean crap and optimize registry or fix registry. And every now and then I update the virus database or definitions on Spyware Blaster and Advanced SystemCare Pro. And when I do have a problem related to virus, I use SuperAntivirus Pro. That's about it, the rest I don't run unless I really need to.

I know that antivirus programs may conflict each other causing problems, but from experience, running Avast & Bitdefender at the same time never caused any problems for me. I've used them for far too long and they really work great WITH each other, not AGAINST. The problem i'm having now only popped up recently and i've had all these programs running fine causing no problems from YEARS AGO. So I know that it's ok. Sometimes, it's not necessary true or correct to just follow what most ppl say about antivirus, coz for me running both of them helps a lot in most situations rather than just running 1 and again I must stress, they don't conflict each other. 2ndly, I do know what antivirus programs are well-known and are actually effective or useful. Ya ur rite, some of them I haven't heard of either but I read good reviews about them from Trustworthy sites, that's why I have them. I don't necessary run all of the same programs that does the same thing at the same time, so as you've said, I have around 5 or 6 registry scanning programs BUT I DON'T run all of them. I only run some just to get a deeper clean and btw, they are good programs, not crap or half decent. I don't think you guys are getting my point for listing the antivirus programs. I only listed them to show that my PC is well maintained and have a good security defence, that's it. Otherwise, list any apps you think is good and ask if I have it or not, coz the problem here is not that I may have a virus, or that the programs conflicted each other causing a problem etc. I merely listed them just to show u guys what I have for protection against viruses or spywares etc....... And if u guys aren't sure about any of them, do some Google search on it.

I don't have ALL OF THEM running, as i've stated in my first post, I only keep a few running on startup, only the important ones. The others are installed in case I need to do a massive scan every now and then for really weird problems like this. I've used all the apps I have and did a scan and found no errors. BTW, the list of apps i've posted are only a few of the ones that I use the most, there are some others like TuneUp 2009 that I haven't listed. Again as i've said, they've got no effect on how my computer runs. And the bluescreen error is regarding to a hardware problem, not software........and my PC is pretty powerful anyway so it's definately not bogged down due to those apps and like i said, i've never had this problem only recently, my PC has all these apps installed for a long time already and never had any problems. Anyway here's my HJT log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 09:27:39 p.m., on 11/07/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Service\livesrv.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\vsserv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\Stardock\SDMCP.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\agrsmsvc.exe C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\ConfigFree\CFSvcs.exe C:\Program Files\FolderSize\FolderSizeSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\NetLimiter 2 Pro\nlsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Toshiba Applet\thotkey.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\TPSMain.exe C:\Program Files\Parallels\Parallels Workstation\PRLDHCP.exe C:\Program Files\Unlocker\UnlockerAssistant.exe C:\Program Files\Vista Drive Icon\DrvIcon.exe C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA Applet\TAPPSRV.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\TODDSrv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\PROGRA~1\SPEEDB~1\VideoAcceleratorService.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\IAANTMon.exe C:\PROGRA~1\SPEEDB~1\VideoAcceleratorEngine.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\TPSBattM.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxsrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\iaanotif.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\bdagent.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\NetLimiter 2 Pro\NLClient.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA Zooming Utility\SmoothView.exe C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA Direct Disc Writer\ddwmon.exe C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSCDSPD\toscdspd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Taskbar Shuffle\taskbarshuffle.exe C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\Audio Sandbox\SRSSSC.exe C:\Program Files\POP Peeper\POPPeeper.exe C:\Program Files\RamCleaner\RamCleaner.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Download Manager\IDMan.exe C:\Program Files\Vista Start Menu\VistaStartMenu.exe C:\Program Files\filehippo.com\UpdateChecker.exe C:\Program Files\SpeedBit Video Accelerator\VideoAccelerator.exe C:\Program Files\WebMonitor\WebMonitor.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\seccenter.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\wcescomm.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MI3AA1~1\rapimgr.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Download Manager\IEMonitor.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgmain.exe C:\Program Files\Styler\Styler.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgbhp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Clipdiary\clipdiary.exe C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ospitray.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\MessengerDiscovery 2\MessengerDiscovery 2.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts\wlcomm.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - I know coz i've been running them for a whole year and never had any problem. I've run them both on my other PCs as well and never had I have any problems like this. I use Bitdefender coz it has a gaming mode and Avast for real time protection, but anyway running both just makes my PC more secure as I've noticed that sometimes when Avast detects a popup or bad website, it blocks it straight away and notifies me whereas Bitdefender doesn't even detect it..... And btw i'm running Bitdefender Total Security 2009 for whoever that asked it.

Hi guys, got a really annoying and weird problem. First of all, i'm using a laptop running WinXP SP3. I've got most of the latest updates so it's stable. I have A LOT of antivirus programs (FULL VERSIONS) and so I'm pretty sure, if not 99% sure that i have a good defence and have maintained my PC well. I did a lot of scans recently and found no viruses or spywares etc..... Just to give a list of what I use, and btw they're all up to date and the newest version as of 2009. RegCure 1.6 Advanced SystemCare 3.2 Avast Antivirus 2009 BitDefender 2009 CCleaner Combofix Error Repair Professional 3.9.9 Spyware Blaster Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC 2009 Spyware Guard Webroot Spysweeper WinUtilities Quicksys RegCleaner 2009 Safe'n'Sec 2009 SUPERAntiSpyware Professional 4.26 Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.38 PRO Advanced System Protector and so on.......seriously, I have ****loads of protection and no i don't run all fo them at the same time or on startup, but only some really important ones so no there aren't any conflicts etc..... Anyway I did the scans and found no virus, maybe one or 2 registry fixes and optimization but that's about it. My PC is totally clean and safe, it's always been like this since ages ago. My PC is up to date with everything, including drivers etc....... I use Firefox with good protection addons, e.g. addons like Adblock Plus etc.......I also use Opera, i NEVER use Internet Explorer but I did update it to IE8 and also use IE7 Pro to further protect it in case I really have to use IE for whatever reason.... Anyway I'm not keylogged or anything, I can safely say that i'm at an advanced level so i know what i'm doing. Just to let you guys know, there's nothing wrong with my PC. Ok so finally onto the problem, it only popped up recently and i have no idea why. Everytime I turn up my PC, i get a bluescreen, it happens maybe 3/4 times when i turn on the PC. And sometimes when i've used the PC for maybe 30 mins to 1 hour or so, the bluescreen will pop up suddenly causing my PC to crash. This is the bluescreen i get everytime i turn on the PC. http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/2907/imag0001n.jpg This is the bluescreen i get only when my PC has been running for maybe 30 mins or more. http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/9963/imag0002y.jpg I haven't installed or downloaded or been to any bad websites so i don't believe it's due to a virus. And plus, I also did some Google searches on my bluescreen error and it's due to bad drivers or hardware problem or something like that..... the thing is, i've cleaned my drivers using Driver Sweeper (to get rid of old drivers) and i've tried reinstalling all my drivers and everything works fine. I also switched the RAM around and basically replug every hardware that's unpluggable from my laptop and everything all works fine, but the problem still shows up..... And again, I did registry scans, used antivirus programs etc but found no problem, or at least they fixed it if they found one or 2....... Sorry for this long post but ya plz help, i've found no solutions on Google. Should i post a HiJackThis log?
