Woah woah ok let me try answer all of that I DID install the latest Microsoft windows updates I didn't install any Ipod, I do have an ipod and use itunes however And AusLogics is a trusted program with so many features that you can choose exactly what you want it to do, Since I have got it it speeds up my system by miles and is very convenient its not doing any harm, and I installed it after I tried the sims again so that isn't it if your wondering. And guys, I tried sims 3 before i did ANYTHING else, I got the latest windows updates then I tried sims 3 and it didn't work so i proceeded to replace my backup files. Il take out google toolbar now it makes no difference to me, I use Safari not IE

Ok, when I do this it tells me "for some reason your system denied access to the host files" then it carries on and when the scan is finished it comes up with a "cannot find the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.log file. Do you want to create a new file?" I click yes but then it just brings up a blank notepad... ?

I did the full factory restore, and did what the wolf dude said but it still doesnt work, im losing the plot here, it makes no sense, The Sims 3 disk works on other laptops, and other games, even games by Maxis, EA like Spore work on my laptop, so why isnt this one working!??!?! Im more than happy paying for something if it protects me, so I'l buy SAS and MWB, I already have bought Avast So I will be running Avast, SAS, MWB all real time, as well as using them for scans and of course any windows defenders are a given, and I'l stick with windows firewall for my firewall. Oh and do SAS or MWB warn against malicious sites?

Lol ok So just to clarify, running Avast, SAS and Malawarebytes I should be all set? Its taking a while to back up my files to a memory stick. Hmm i find this pretty confusing, ok so If im running Avast in real time protection, and SAS and MWB in real time protection is that ok? as well as letting them all scan at the same time too.

Lol no I meant, why is it that SAS and Malwarebytes can run along Avast fine but AVG can not run along Avast fine .. Also I was thinking of buying Kaspersky to replace Avast, would SAS and Malwarebytes run ok with Kaspersky? and is Kaspersky better than Avast. Just finished backing up now so wont be on for a couple of hours while i do it all.

Ok, can you recommend a good firewall? and why is it superantispyware and malwarebytes are ok to run along with Avast but not AVG.

The only reason I didnt want to do it is because its just borderline a lot of work to get things back to how they where before, i was just hoping there was some other way to get this game to work.. And I dont have any virus or trojans on my computer its clean, Unless you think that both AVG and Avast would have failed to miss them, in which case what would you say wouldnt miss them? Also the reason I run both is because Avast is the best Anti-Virus, but it has no web protection where as AVG constantly gets spyware from internet surfing and protects me online. I will do a full recovery manager restore and then try again with the disk, If that doesnt work then what could it possibly be?

I dont understand why you think my computer is in such a need of a clean-up I use AusLogics as well as AVG and Avast I cant reinstall vista i dont have the disk, and last time i tried to do a system restore it caused more problems than it fixed.
