  1. i know how to install the drivers thats no big deal, i just do a system restore and I get them all back, what I want to know is why everytime I shut down they disappear again, I get the little speach bubble down the bottom saying remove hardware and when i check it, its saying my cd drive can be removed. Something really strange is happening and I can only postone with another system restore till the next restart. I've tried reinstalling the latest drivers from the dell website but the system restore seems to be the easiest way. Could a virus be doing this?
  2. well as I said the pc is second hand and I cant be bummed calling dell. The guy who sold me it is willing to take it back but I'd rather avoid the hassle of packing it up and sending it off again
  3. I got this laptop second hand off of ebay and I was informed there was some lines of nill display on the screen which I thought was negligable. However upon my first boot up after the windows loading screen the screen went distorted and appeared to be broken. I figured out If I booted up in safe mode and restarted windows it seemed to come on without any problems. However now Sometimes when I turn it on it appears like all the drivers have been uninstalled, I do a system restore and its fine untill I turn it off and then it wont come on at all. Leave it for a day and its working fine again except no drivers, system restore everything is fine untill next start up where either it refuses to work or all the drivers go again. I've done a virus scan and that doesnt appear to be the problem any help guys?
