  1. That helped, in a way I was hoping to be able to view them in the browser again. This will do Thanks. What would cause it to do that?
  2. Everytime I use Firefox, no matter what version I have used, I can't view PDF files. I have to use IE to see them. I was able to view them long time ago then it stopped. I am not getting any error messages what so ever. Firefox just shutsdown. BTW, I am using XPSP2.
  3. I am running Win XP. My small question is: I have seen this "Microsoft .NET Framework" What does this do? Is it an important part of the system?
  4. I have tried dragging the borders as well. With the same results. This only happens when I check my hotmail through the messenger. When I click on the "E" on the quick launch or anywhere else, it opens maximized.
  5. What is really bothering me right now is that IE7 won't stay maximized everytime I open it. When I close it and then reopen it, it goes back to the way it was before. So how do I keep it maximized?
  6. Another thing you can try is go to "TREND MICRO Housecall 6.5". I find that site will find just about anything that doesn't belong. It may take awhile to do a scan, depending on your system. On mine it takes about an hour. But its worth the wait.
  7. I know for a fact that the burner is not broken. Just that this one CD got corrupt somehow. There are no scratches on the disk. I mentioned above that I did find a program that showed stuff on it, but had to register it to get the files. Just looking for a freeware if possible. Thats ok Danzil, I know what its like too be busy.
  8. Do you still get the system sounds to play? In one place could be the source to check is in the device manager. To get there is this: Right click on "My Computer", then click Manage Then click on Device Manager You might see a Yellow circle with a "!" in it.
  9. When I put it in a drive, it tells me there is nothing on it. I have even tried putting it in a burner drive. It still couldn't find anything. It just spins trying to find something.
  10. Yes, that was the near first thing I have tried. I know there is stuff on the CD, as I tried one program, and even showed me what was on it. But I had to register the program to get the files. What the program was called, I forget.
  11. I am running XP SP2. 1gig ram. The problem is I have this CD that I can't read anymore. I have downloaded several programs to check it. Only one did find files on it, but can't retrieve them. And I can't remember what the program was called. I would hate to trash the CD as it has some files I need and I don't have backups for. I am also looking for a freeware program if possible. So does anyone have any ideas?
  12. It was nowhere to be found, I even did a search. Nothing. So I had to put a check in the add/remove, got it back that way. Then I had to reinstall JRE. Now its working better, with no errors at all I have been using Firefox cause I was getting errors, The only time when I have to use IE7 is my hotmail and to update. Then everytime I closed it, I would get a memory error. And also I couldn't run several java apps. I can't download spyware sweeper, it doesn't like my system. I use Spybot all the time.
  13. The only thing that did work was loading in the "run" then typing it in. Its not in the quick launch at all. And also I thought I would check to see if I could create an icon on the desktop. It said the path does not exist. All I know its on the computer somewhere. As it opens when I click on windows update and in start/run and typing in iexplore.exe.
  14. After I did that I couldn't run Java applications at all. So I removed the check mark, now it works great. Except I don't have any icons to access IE7 instead of clicking on Windows Update. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get IE7 to open without clicking on windows update all the time?
