  1. Hey! You got a stop message.. same as I got :( What I have tested: I have tested to boot the system without soundcard, network, floppydisk, cd and even the GPU. But still the prob. remains.. I have a pair of 2gbit DDR2 (total 4gbit) and I tried to change DIMMS all combinations (ofcourse tested singelcombinations).. I have also been running system statistics separatly on the Memory, but also on the hole system without any errors displayed. There is alot of talk, on other sites, about that the AMD Dual Core and Quad Core (both CPU:s=processors) has instability and easly overheats if you not got the rigth "freezing".. and also that the RAM:s can be bad if you got this error massage... but I fairly believe its the mainproblem. I think this is a software problem!! Facts about the problem: The message is in the style: STOP: 0x0000000A (parameter, parameter, parameter, parameter) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL This is a Windows 2000 Executive (include XP) character-mode STOP message. It indicates an attempt was made to touch pageable memory at a process IRQL (interrupt request level) that is too high. This is usually caused by drivers using incorrect addresses. You and I got four parameters. The fourth parameter in the message parameter list, in our case "0x00000000,0x0000001C,0x00000001 and 0x804FB006" is the memory address at which the fault happened. The second parameter shows the IRQL. If the IRQL was not equal to 2, then the interrupt most likely came from a driver. >> your shows 1c!!!, that meens probably a driver problem. Note that the third parameter encodes read/write access (0 = read, 1= write). That meens the problem occurs when there is an write access! I dont know if the first parameter is telling you the BIOS intialize start(the first adress BIOS use too boot computer) or if it displayes a processor failure error. I guess thoe it just displays the start memory path... :/ A driver problem can easly occurs with a new installed program, application or so on.. Have you installed some new programs latly? Updated some software? It also can occurs because of original "bad buddies". What I mean is the behavour between diffrent drivers like graphic card drivers and soundcard, network.. etc. The default system you buy.. is mostlikely testet to run smoothly, but if you maybe have updated, lets say the GPU drivers, then they may occur not like the other hardware drivers. And we got a STOP message.. :( (Viruses and regestry playing can also start this error...) What you and me need to do: If Windows is loaded and no new hardware has been installed, reboot with recovery options set to create a dump file. 1. Put in cd. 2. Press R (for recovery) 2. Copy system32 files to harddriver. (search google for futher more helpfull instructions) If the message continues to appear, select the Last Known Good option when you reboot (this aint possible now, but maybe after using the Windows XP cd). So I guess both you and me needs an XP cd.. atleast me. Didnt got one when buying the computer :( (I will try too get the recovery disk from Dell..my seller) I suggest you install SP3 after this fix. They have done some fixes for this STOP issue. Please tell me if you have any other suggestions to the fix of this problem!!!!!!! Best regards Takeo ComputersystemCandidate and Tosho4001CE expert
