Hi all, I while back I set up my house with one TP-Link TL-WPA4220 kit and an extra two AV600 Powerline range extender units and they were working well but in the last week I have noticed that my (and my wife's) mobile phones won't connect to the wi-fi! we get a message saying there is no network available (or something like that at least). Does anyone know what has happened and if so what I can do to correct it please? I believe that in the powerline utility icon on my desktop it is possible to create new passwords etc but I haven't got a clue how to do that. Actually, I have just opened this icon and there appears to be nothing stored on it regarding my powerline adapter or extenders under the "network" tab! Any help will as always be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi Ken, Many thanks for the suggestion above, that has certainly worked although as you say it is a work around solution rather than an actual solution as to why my computer or phone is not playing together very well! Having said that at least I do have a way of getting my images from my phone onto my computer. Many thanks again for all your help so all I need to do now is to set up my phone so that all screenshots, camera pictures, Whattsapp pictures etc are set up to be saved onto the SD card rather than the internal memory.

Thanks for the extra help on this. I have done exactly as you have set out for me and the first picture is of what the S8 showed me initially, I then changed the USB use to "Transferring images (second picture). So then I opened up the window to "view all files" and this happened again (third picture). You can see the green bar is near the end of the downloading line but the blue circle that microsoft use to tell you the computer is busy doing stuff is still trying to load the pictures. As an aside, I took the SD card out of the phone and put it into an adapter and then popped it into a USB port on the computer and I was able to copy all the pictures that were on that card, however it wasn't all the pictures that I remember were on there. I have several photo galleries on my phone but they didn't appear in the window.

Ok, I am using the charge USB lead that came with the phone to connect it to the computer. The computer does recognise the phone and a window opens up (please see my initial post with pictures on). I think the problem lies somehow with the computer because when I get to the last window (camera) that is where the computer really takes it's time and doesn't upload the picture icons for most of the pictures! I just cannot copy any pictures from that "camera" window to another file on my computer whether I use copy and paste or drag and drop because it seems like the computer hasn't got the full information from the "camera" file icon. TBH, I'm not sure what else I can say to help you with your assessment as I think I have covered everything. In short, the computer doesn't seem to be able to upload the pictures onto the "camera" file in order to then copy them and move them elsewhere. I do hope this helps you a little more and thank you for all your help so far.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I think I may not have explained myself very well though. It's the problem with the computer not uploading the pictures from the mobile phone into the window properly rather than getting them onto my desktop that is the problem! It always used to but now it just struggles and the green bar at the top of the loading screen (last picture) just gets stuck and won't do anything and so the picture tiles just get stuck and I can't then move any or copy any to a different window on my desktop computer.

Hi all, I could do with a bit of help please. Just recently my computer seems to struggle with uploading photo's from my mobile phone, I have a Samsung S8 and it has always done it in the past but just can't seem to do it anymore. Below is the sequence that takes place after connecting my S8 to the computer via the proper USB cable. On picture 6 you can see that the green line at the top of the page is going from left to right but it always seems to struggle at this stage and I can never copy any photo's from this file onto my computer. As said previously I have always been able to copy photo's from my phone to the computer but it just won't do it anymore for some reason. I would really appreciate some help with this issue as I have many photo's that I want to upload from my phone. Many thanks.

[Solved] Monitor screen black after moving computer

Hi Rustys and KenB, Many thanks for your help and advice on my problem. I am pleased to say that after doing what was suggested (and vacuuming inside the tower) the monitor now works as it should. Many thanks again, I really appreciate all your help. -
Hi all, Can anyone help please? I have moved my computer and monitor to a newly decorated room and now the LG monitor just shows a black screen. I had shut the computer down properly before disconnecting and moving it just 20 minutes before! The computer starts up as normal with the typical windows sound as the program comes to the logging on screen but the monitor only shows the yellow stanby light and a window comes on the monitor just saying "power saving mode". I have tried using another power lead for the monitor and another VGA lead but the symptoms are exactly the same... Does anyone know what has happened please?

Ok, I have chatted online with TP-LINK support and they got me to connect my mobile phone to the wi-fi connection that came up on my phone saying TP-LINKxxxx and after I had entered the password for the extender (written on the label on the extender itself) my phone then received full (4 bars) of wi-fi signal. I am now chuffed to see it working. I have just purchased two more extenders so I can add wi-fi signal in the daughters bedroom and the utility which is an out building but has a power cable to it connected from the house fuse box so I am hopeful this will work also. Thank you again for all your help and patience on this matter :). -

I have done a factory reset and I think that has worked. I have also paired them I believe , both the adapter and extender are showing the top two LED's as solid lights. I have the Utility icon on my computer desktop but don't know how to use it if I'm honest..... I don't think my house wiring is 3 phase (I don't even know what 3 phase means anyway). I shall see how it goes and if the Wi-fi signal is still a bit weak in the conservatory I may connect the adapter in the power socket in the conservatory by the ethernet cable I have already in that room and then have the extender next to it! Who know's I may get it to work properly one day.... -

Hi Joddle, Sorry it's been a while but I was testing this TP-Link for a few weeks and I'm not sure if it's working properly. I have taken a video of me doing the set up exactly as the support video you put on here above for me and I think if you listen to the words at each step it seems the Wi-fi extender isn't doing what it should re how the lights should be working! What do you think? Also, the instructions seem to suggest that these powerline adapters and extenders should be connected in the same power circuit! eg, upstairs ring main OR, downstairs ring main but not one adapter in the one ring main and the extender in the other ring main... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eO9NiDF8Ko View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eO9NiDF8Ko&feature=youtu.be -

I have now received my TP-Link starter kit and I have connected it all up as per instructions although I did have a bit of trouble doing it as I wasn't really sure if what I was doing was the right way if that makes sense. I used the WPS button to link the router to the input module and then paired (i think I did anyway) the input module to the wifi extender and I do think it's working ok now. Can I ask, if I buy another wifi extender does it have to be paired with the input module as well or is that not possible?
