I bought the above security and maintenance suite last week and installed it over the weekend. It has been a disaster as all I get is a box saying "starting the netdefense firewall" and I cannot do anything else although I leave the computer running for hours. I have tried to uninstall it but cannot perform any functions. I emailed Avanquest who say they will reply in 3 days or longer if it is not a simple query. I would get the sack if I took so long to reply to an email. Anybody got any suggestions? I have windows xp home. Thank you

Thank you, I gave that a try but I still get the same message when I shut down. I am just worried that I might be damaging my computer by having to pull out the plug every time I want to shut it down for the night. Any suggestions please?

Every time I go to turn off my computer I get a message saying "do not switch off, 1 of 4 updates is taking place and your computer will turn off automatically". However the updates never seem to download even if I leave the computer on all night, and in order to turn off the computer I have to pull the plug out. Firstly, is there any way to make the updates happen, and secondly, is there any way to turn off the computer from the keyboard because when the above message is showing I cannot get to the turn off switch on my desktop. I have Windows XP home. Thank you
