  1. Cheers, that has reduced it slightly. I will look for what else can be unchecked. Videos still wont render but starting to think that could be a seperate issue anyway.

  3. Hiya, yeh im running 64bit vista home premium. And your right its 4gig RAM. virtual memory was set at 4393mb and 314gb left on hard drive. I will try the disk cleanup as well.
  4. Ive got a hp s5128uk desktop. And im trying to render a video using sony vegas 8. Ive done this plenty of times before but now it wont start the render process, and then says that my memory usage is to high and to shut some applications. It says this even though vegas is the only program actively open, and before i use to be able to have internet, instant messanger and various other applications open whilst the rendering process was going on in the background. Even with no applications open it says the ram is running about 45-50% which i thought is pretty high. Any idea why or how to bring it down? i thought it would involve closing applications running in the background but none of these seem to be using that much memory
