Hi All, I am a new member and am having a few problems on my computer/laptop. If anyone can help me at all... that would be excellent! To start with, my laptop has been suffering from "Blue Screen" for some time now. Everything freezes, a blue screen pops up with a message that is way to fast for me to read, and then it reboots itself. At first I thought I had a virus (because I am a simple person with no computer skills besides typing!!) and then this came up : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N So, through that name I found you guys and figured out how to fix my dvd/cd rom drive (I hope that's what it's called!) and now that half works. Ok... the real questions now... 1. My laptop is still blue screening and sometimes says this: Error Signature: BCCode : 9c BCP1 : 00000000 BCP2 : 80546E70 BCP3 : F2000040 BCP4 : 00000800 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1 Hardware: DT, ST, HT, DVDRAM And that I have a Hardware problem. I tried starting in safe mode with networking and going to windows/system32/drivers .. but had no idea what to look for! lol. Are there any idea's on what i should be doing or looking for?? 2. Is there anywhere I can get a FREE MPEG-2 dvd Decoder for my windows media player so I can actually watch the dvd's now? Sorry for the long post, I hope someone can help me because I am at the limit of my computer knowledge and searching the internet for ideas pretending to be a computer whiz is actually frying my brain cells! I have no idea what half of the stuff means and no-one else to ask. :( Thanks again! xx J
