Hey guys, newbie here. Having read some of the posts in this sectin there seems to be a lot of similar problems so sorry if this is going over old ground.
I got a desktop PC from my neighbour. It's a Compaq, running XP. I had burnt a bunch of films onto a blank DVD+RW disc and tried to run it on this desktop. The drive whirls and the mouse cursor turns into a whirling CD icon but there is no auto run, no error message, no options. Nothing.
My 'D' drive cannot read it.The disc with the burnt films isn't even acknowledged on the D drive which just says "DVD Drive (D: )" The desktop drive is both a CD and DVD drive. I have also tried running this disc in my laptop and it auto runs just fine.
I have also tried running a normal DVD in my desktop and that works and normal computer program CDs work on it too. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. The Device Manager shows there is no update needed etc.
I don't think there are any loose cables as the drive is internal and everything else works just fine. Any ideas? Need more details? Let me know.
Thanks in advance guys.
