Each time I boot the computer it shows a checksum error and stops. I press F1 to load the defaults and all is ok except that I have to set the time and date each time. I have no idea why the system is doing this and would like some help in trying to correct this.

I am using XP and have used the wizard to set up a connection between a desktop and a laptop. I have ticked the file share and printer share but I get a message saying the laptop is not accessible and I might not have permission to use this network resource and to contact the administrator of this server to find out if I have access permission. The files appear on screen but I cannot gain access to them. Please can anyone help with this problem.
