My pc always freezes when playing any game

Here is a pic of the sensors of the components and I have a NVIDIA graphics card (below). After the maximum time in-game until the freeze comes the temps rise from 2 - 8C. NOTE: I used the program 'System Info for Windows' (SIW) for this pic, but SpeedFan gave me the same readings as it. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7910/specpic.png The freezes occur on any game, the games I tested this on are: -Call of Duty - World at War = FPS -Arma 2 = Warfare Simulator / FPS/RPG -Hearts of Iron 3 = Strategy -Call of Duty 4 = FPS -Far Cry 2 = FPS/RPG -OF Dragon Rising = FPS -S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky = FPS/RPG -Grand Theft Auto IV = Shooter/RPG -Fallout 3 = FPS/RPG As you can see I like action games http://www.techsupportforum.com/images/smilies/i_smile.gif and most of them require good specs to run on. They also (used) to work fine (with the right settings) on my computer when it had the 2GB of memory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm no expert but an expert did build the computer up for me (he owns a successful store in a nearby town), so i'm not sure what type of power connection is used for the graphics card but here is another pic of the mother board details: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/9164/anotherpic.png ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a 1 year warranty, but I’ve had this pc for about 13 - 14 months. I have purchased other pcs from the same shop before with no problems though. The card seems fine, its probobly colder now as its winter and I added fans as it was going to temperatures of 55-60C in the summer I thought that was too hot (it has a flame icon on speedfan http://www.techsupportforum.com/images/smilies/1-grin.gif) I thought it could have been an anti-virus related problem (McAfee), but I have tested the games out with all its services off and it still freezes so I doubt that’s the cause either. Also, I just started COD WAW up and just 3s into loading it the screen froze again (new record) :P. Generally the freezes happen at random times (now from 1min to 15min), so they aren’t occurring quicker or anything. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only thing I remember doing that day was that I downloaded some MP3 files to my pc. When the freezes started (the same day) I thought the cause was probably a virus from the files, but after extensive virus scans I found none of them in my system. As for any automatic windows updates something called 'Software Distribution Service 3.0' downloaded, but like other XP users this happens every day and somehow never manages to install. I've had this bug for a long time though. -
I have this annoying problem with my pc: - After 5 - 15minutes playing any game on my pc the screen freezes And when this happens: - Any key short cuts do not work - Cursor seems to respond but clicking anything has no response - Sounds from the game (or from any background music) is continually looped - Turning the power off and on is the only option - Before or after reboot there is no error Things I've found out: - It is not RAM i have checked this over and over again and I used to have 2GB RAM, so I purchased 2, 2GB new memory sticks and problem still persists - It is not overheat, max temperature is 45C (when the freezes appear), the pc is very well ventilated and clean inside - I have no viruses that I know of, I have used many different virus scanners in safe mode and normal mode for many days and there appears to be no viruses found - Power to the pc and motherboard is correct and the pc hasn't had any surges to it - It started happening on the 26th Dec and always freezes any game that I try to play - I have tried to play the games in window and full screen, it still happens - I have defragmented and used the 'clean disc' application over and over again, the problem still occurs Also, I have had this computer a year and I have never had anything like this. Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz 4GB RAM I thank you in advance for any helpful responses http://www.techsupportforum.com/images/smilies/1-wink.gif
