advent 7090 laptop Screen not working. HELP!

My laptop works great until it crashed, when i loaded it back up the screen was showing muti-coloured vertical lines, can,t see a thing, do i need a new graphics crad, or new laptop?. My Daughter is gutted, need to get this fixed PLZ HELP!
