Hi. Having lots of issues with a new PC. Mainly the system has bluescreens and shuts down, then displays "missing operating system" on a black screen. Have managed to use the Vista 32bit disc to boot from and using Start up repair I can get back into the sytem.
The startup repair is showing the root cause as: Boot sector for disk partititon is corrupt.
There are also lots of errors on the event viewer, I have had 191 in the last hour relating to lots of things but just now they seem to be to do with the latest updates i've installed from windows update. Here are some examples
1 "Windows Servicing failed to complete the process of setting package KB905866 (Update) into Staging(Staging) state".
2 "The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."
3 "IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot 7, function 0. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance."
System specs. Asus P5N-E SLI, Core 2 Duo 6420, 1GB generic RAM, 320GB Maxtor HD, XFX 7900GS, VISTA 32bit OS.
Any help/pointers greatly appreciated. Thanks.
