  1. I have a HP Pavilion ZV6000 with Win XP Pro on which the sound suddenly stopped working, and all of the buttons (mute/volume) also stopped functioning. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers (even several versions of the drivers) with no results. The device manager shows the device (the default Conexant AC-Link audio that came with the machine) as installed and functioning, yet the Audio controls show no playback device installed. Are there registry entries that need to be cleaned up before a uninstall/reinstall?
  2. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S460 running Win XP home on which the keyboard suddenly stopped working. This goes for both the built in keyboard and any external USB keyboard that I've attached. When attaching the external keyboard, none of the regular keypad work, but the multi-media keys on it function. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers but that has done nothing.
