I managed to get into safe mode using F8 but still couldn't access any documents. However, I was able to do system restore and that worked :D:D. Thank you for all your help :)

Thanks, I will try that tonight when I get home. However, I don't get any screen before the log in screen (i.e. no boot screen, etc.). This account is the only one on the computer so I think it is the administrator account.

When I type in my password on the Windows Vista login screen I get the error message: "Your Profile Is Not Recognised" There is an important file that I need from this profile. Is there any way of getting it back? Thanks
