  1. my video card is a Via/S3 Unichrome IGP... the vlc player seemed to be better quality but still not smooth. i have a 2.16 ghz amd athlon 704 mb ram the codecs i installed are vista compatible...i dont know where to find vista drivers for video. if i need to buy a new graphics card i will...but wanted to check all angles first.
  2. i have a dual boot..with windows xp pro and vista home premium. My problem is windows media player... any time i play a file in vista the video seems stutter and very kinda "pixely" i have installed all the relevant codecs.. when i play same files in xp it is perfect... is this a video card issue?? do i need to upgrade?? i just have a standard vga onboard... is there any way to get vista running at the "best performance" i dont really care about nice looking themes of flipping tabs..just want to play video. can media player be run under compatibility wizard?
  3. yeah the cpu usage goes straight to 100% and pretty much stays there..it never gets to the burning part... i cleaned the dust from pc too.i dont know what thermal paste is though lol!!!.always shuts down when around halfway through encoding... the ram still stays in the green though.. only seems to switch on when switching power sockets?? is this maybe my surge protector? anyone know of any other good dvd software...?? pref the cheaper the better... or any other lite versions?
  4. hi i am using xp pro. everytime i try to burn a dvd it gets halfway through and pc shuts off...... it wont come back on until i unplug from mains and put back in another socket.(which is weird) it never used to do this.. i recently reformatted in case i had a virus as well but has made no difference. i have 2.16 ghz processor 704mb ram i am using nero.. i will maybe try another burning software... is it the power supply possibly? are they expensive to fix?
