Thank you all for the help. Sry, that it has taken me this long to get back to everyone. The issue was the motherboard and I was finally able to convence Dell to replace it. As soon as I powered it up, everything went perfectly. I hope that if anyone has this issue and sees this post that they will understand what they need to do, because I had no idea. Thanks again to everyone that offered their help, I really appreciate it. This site is great, it can help anyone, regardless of what thier IT knowledge is. Thanks again guys. TunicaJones:D

Hell all I am so glad that I found this thread and I hope that someone can help me. I had to replace the motherboard on my wifes laptop and now I am having the same issue that was discussed above. I know that it is a bios issue and more than likely the clock speed is set incorrectly. The problem I am facing is that I cant change the setting for the clock speed by anyway that I would be able to on a desktop. Where I would normally be able to change the speed, it says that none of the options on the screen are changable. I have tried to reset the bios to default but there in lies the problem, because the motherboard is new.My wife is a PhD student and she has some information that she has got to have ASAP. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. I contacted Dell and I was told that it was a problem with the OS and that I would have to reformat. I told him the situation and that I was positive that it was a bios issue but they wouldnt listen. So you guys are my last hope, if you need any information about my situation please let me know and I will get it to you. I will be monitoring this thread so I will be able to get back to you soon. Thank you all in advance and I look forward to hearing what you all have to say.:D
