  1. I have a Dell Latitude D400 laptop which I have given to my girlfriend as a present. We had to make a couple of changes though. 1. I had to replace the mousepad because the previous one had become faulty but in the end we replaced the whole top case with the exception of the keyboard which was working fine. 2. Replace the old battery because it didn't work anymore. When booting up the laptop afterwards after the initial opening screen I get two beeps abd a message which says the following. 'Primary Hard Disk Drive 0 not found' then it tells me that there are no bootable devices. When I used the laptop before it worked very well. The OS is Windows Professional XP Pro SP3. When replacing the casing could something had happened to the hard drive? Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. Thank you Dalo Harkin. She tried Ctrl + V and that works perfectly. :) Any ideas on why it doesn't work with right-click?
  3. My partner has a desktop PC which runs Windows XP Home SP3 and also uses Internet Explorer 8. Recently if she tries to copy when she right-clicks with the mouse and tries to paste anywhere on a webpage, the page freezes up. Anyone have any ideas? I'll supply anymore information if required.
  4. Thank you very much, you've all been very helpful. :D
  5. Thank you very much Dalo. I actually dropped a bit of an ice lolly which thawed out into liquid and thats probably what did the damage. :o I'll do as you suggested though and see if that works.
  6. I have a Dell Latitude D400 laptop and appreciate very much all the lelp and advice I get from here. Tonight though I have a new problem, the Mousepad works fine apart from the left mouse key underneath which doesn't work at all now. Earlier on the mousepad had got slightly wet after a small part of a drink landed on it but worked alright afterwards for a while. When I use the right mouse key, that seems to work fine apart from every now and again when it becomes unresponsive but that's quite rare though as usually it's fine. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do please?
  7. I have an annoying problem which doesn't happen all the time but can be very irritating when it does. When I am on my laptop sometimes the mousepad for no reason whatsoever will click itself and if I'm playing an online pool game, the consequences can be fatal. Also when browsing a webpage sometimes for no reason at all I end up clicking on an advert or any other hyperlink. If anyone knows of a way to stop this in the future then I'll be really grateful. I use a Dell Latitude D400 laptop and am using Windows XP Pro.
  8. Thank you Jelly Bean. That worked perfectly and I've been scratching my brains for hours. :)
  9. I turned on my laptop this morning and found that I had 'Limited or No Connectivity' on the wireless internet connection. The problem is that everything has been working well until today and that I am able to connect to the internet perfectly on the desktop PC. When I tried to diagnose the problem on the laptop I get a message telling me that it cannot renew my IP address so am a bit stuck. Can anyone give me some advice? My laptop uses Windows XP Home and it's a Dell Latitude D400/
