i am having trouble with my toshiba laptop (T130), bearing in mind it is only 2 months old, an update was installed around two weeks ago which caused my touch pad to go haywire, this being an intermittant surface and the left click becoming right, right not working, i presumed this to be a virus but after several checks non were found, i then rolled back my pc, fixing the problem, however the next time updates installed this happened again. i have turned updates off (not recommended) yet every time the pc turns off then on i now have to go into the system files and re-install the driver manually.
This gives me use of the left click but the right click still doesnt work. with this now being a week of re-configuring, installing the windows driver, toshibas driver and synaptics i still have no right click, and having to reinstall the system driver after startup to restore left click (can i mention at this point that even configuring synaptics' multi button touch pad to right click (thus circumventing the physical button) i still have no right click). i from here installed a clean copy of windows 7 pro to find the same thing happened on startup, and live booting linux fedora 12 gives me little to no mouse functionality regarding button pushes. As you can probably tell from this lengthy message that i am familiar with computers and that i have exhausted everything at my disposal in trying to fix this myself (can i say at this point that the mouse functionality is normal on an external usb mouse) it seems to be one of the rare occasions where the problem seems to be neither hardware or software but some mix of both.
