Hi Yes the router has been connected wireless to my lap top a couple of days ago. The trouble started when in frustration I pressed the reset button..... It's not Tiscali - its Cable and Wireless (I'm abroad). Your router wireless channel is set to 12 or 13 - alot of wireless cards can only see channels 1 to 11 - don't know how to check that Your router is configured to hide the wireless network (normally labelled as Hide SSID), or it is switched off - Have checked the router and can't see that at all? It was originally configured via a web site link - no install disc with this one - just log onto a web site and give router details Thanks R

Hi Yes I am connected now with ethernet connection so it works. I would need some help with the firewall questions - looked at the firewall on the lap top and can't see anything obvious? Thanks R Two questions. Have you tried connecting to the router via the ethernet conections? What firewall are you using and have you checked it to see if it may be blocking your router?

Hi Yes I had tried all of that but nothing when I refresh the wireless networks list except showing me what 'other' wireless networks are available which frustratingly isn't mine. Turned off everything and tried the turning on lapt top first and router second and also the other way round, still no joy. Any other ideas? Thanks Ruth

Hello Helpers Can anyone help - this is crazy.... My laptop cannot find my wireless connection. It can find lots of other wireless networks in the area just not the one it is sitting next to. When my friend tried his lap top - it picked up my wireless connection no problem.... Surely this means that my lap top can find wireless connections, my router is sending a wireless signal so why don't the two meet? Any ideas? Thanks Ruth

Hi Just tried the method I described again and it does work. It allows me to view the site but doesn't let me play the games (which is my aim). Is there anyway I can block it so I can't even view the home page? Thanks R

Hi I have tried using tools, internet options, security settings, restricted sites, sites and then posting the web site address and clicking on ok. It doesn't seem to work but when I go back to check it the web site address is in the resticted sites but it doesn't restrict access. Can you advise? Thanks R

The wizard runs while I have internet connection but can't find anything. Where would I find details of the graphics card? Its a 2 year old Advent lap top Thanks

by mistake (!) I unistalled and deleted my video controller programme. When i restart my lap top the hardware wizard asks me to install the video controller hardware and I have no disc. I am on Windows XP. What effect will this have and how do I reinstall if necessary? Thanks
