I am a novice at computer assembly and troubleshooting and am assembling my first computer. ASUS P5NE-SLI Mobo, Intel 6750, WD Raptor 150, and WD Caviar 250, Cg Corsair XMS, and a Lite-On DVD Burner, and a yet to be installed copy of MS Vista Ultimate 32 bit. After assembly, I powered up the unit and it passed BIOS with out problems. Then, tikeritis set in and I tried to update BIOS. Ever since have received the Disk Boot Failure error. I can get into BIOS set-up. The boot sequence is set as recommended. After researching, I gather that the boot.ini file is corrupt, but it must be from preinstalled data that is written on the WD hard drive, as I have not loaded an OS or even the drive software. I am unsure as to how to proceed from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
