Hi again, i went on to the acer website to see if i could find any info on there about it, had a live chat to a technician, and he said it sounds like a power drain, and advised me to remove the battery after shutting off the power, and then re try restarting again, i tried that and it restarted fine, but if the problem arises again, i'll get back in touch, thanks for your help, Rob

Hi, I have used the sleep option before, and had the same problem when i used the machine again, so now i only tend to use shut down,, i will try the other options though and see what happens, thanks, Rob.

I have an acer aspire 5535 laptop running windows vista, everytime i need to do a restart, it starts going through the process, but then the power shuts off :confused:, at first i thought it may be an overheating problem, but it happens when the machine has only been on for a short while aswell, :(, any help would be very much appreciated, thanks, Rob.

This is a strange one, I downloaded an mp3 music file, which lasts for approx 1hr 35 mins, when played on windows media player, the whole file is played, when inserted into nero wave editor, it also recognises the whole file, however, when inserted into cool edit pro 2, it only recognises 1 hr 9 mins of the file, obviousley at 1 hr 35 mins the file is too large to to be written to a cd disc, therefore i was hoping to edit it to fit on 2 discs, but this cant be done, because cool edit cant recognise the full length of the file, so anyhelp regarding this issue would be much appreciated, thanks.
