  1. The second one will be the previous installation and probably will be under C:\Windows.old. In there will be items such as your Desktop, Favourites and application settings. I would leave it there until you are sure you have everything. To get rid of the menu option (which doesn't get rid of the Windows installation), download Vistabootpro: - Windows 7 Boot Editor - Dual Boot Windows 7 or Vista with Windows XP
  2. I've known all sorts of problems occur from compressing your drive. If I were you I would take compression off by going to "My Computer", right click on C: and choose Properties. Untick "Compress drive to save disk space" and click OK. The reason you are getting blue colours is due to the setting in "My Computer", Tools, Folder Options, View, Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color. I've come across the SKU011.CAB lots of times but have always used the installation CD to fix it. Try this: - A required installation file SKU011.CAB could not be found. | Kazmarek Technology Blog With regards to the sounds it could be that the program can't access the sound file if it's compressed and has used an alternative. I'd recommend running Disk Cleanup without the compressed option to clear up your drive. Go to "My Computer", Right click on C: and choose Properties then "Disk Cleanup". Another way is to double click on C:, press Ctrl+F and search for files greater than 10MB. If you don't need the file and you know what it is, delete it. Finally if you're still low on space, grab a new hard drive that has more space.
  3. 1. Reboot the router 2. Try re-entering the network key; if it's WPA then it will be case sensitive. 3. Check that your IP address is 192.168.0.x and default gateway is 192.168.0.1 and IP address is obtained automatically. 4. Try configuring the router to use no security as a test and see if that works. 5. Reinstall the wireless driver.
  4. Does it go into Standby if you leave it or are you working away while it stands by? If it's the former then I would check your power options in Control Panel and disable Standby. If the latter then check the event logs and update all your drivers. It could be a hardware issue and the best way to fix this is back up all your data and reinstall windows with no applications. Then one by one put your drivers back on (process of elimination).
  5. If I were you I'd just plug the single drive in and see if it boots. Also make sure you don't have a floppy disk in the drive, any USB sticks plugged in and no CD/DVDs in the drive(s). If it doesn't boot I would reinstall Vista and reformat the drive. If your issue is intermittent then it could be a hardware fault or in need of a BIOS upgrade.
  6. There's only two ways to do this as far as I know. 1. Connect the two PCs together via an ethernet cable and set up Internet Connection Sharing. 2. Connect both PCs to a Cable/DSL router (best way). In both cases check that both PCs have an IP address and also reset your router. It can also depend what router you have if you are using this method. For example an Orange Livebox needs pairing up with each PC first.
