  1. Hi guys =] just replaced my 8800gts with a GTX 460 gs, and the resolution will not go any higher than 1024x768. i can select higher, up to 1400 x 900 but when i click apply, the screen just says mode not supported. Worked fine with the 8800. relevant information: Vista ultimate samsung 19" hdtv (with vga port) currently using a vga cable. tried connecting via hdmi but after the boot screen, nothing displays. i tried using the disk to install the driver for it, but it said access denied when i tried to run the setup for the display driver. i think its installed okay though because i can see all the information for it in dxdiag and when i use the online driver updater on nvidia's website, it says i have the latest driver for my gpu already (260.99). bit of a beefy problem seen as im wandering around my computer at this res with a gaming card :/ thanks in advance :)
  2. okay, I'm on vista ultimate 32bit, and using a belkin wireless N usb dongle. drivers are perfect and internet connected fine earlier (automatically). the actual problem is I cant connect to my wifi at all because its stopped connecting automatically, and every time i click on 'Connect to a Network' with the windows wireless config, windows explorer crashes and restarts. the same when i try going into control panel and the clicking through until 'Network Connections' the same happens. I'm thinking some previous virus or malware has corrupted the wireless zero config (wireless autoconfig). i cant actually get the screen up that lets me select a network and connect to it. I cant use the belkin utility either because they say it doesnt install on vista, because its easier to use the one already available... wireless zero configuration lol. Any help on fixing the zer config is much appreciated guys (Y) :) Will donate when fixed
  3. Anyone else who can help? its really quite annoying when it was working absolutely fine before the updated driver. thanks
  4. yeah dude, i know where you mean, thats where im changing it. if i select any other res than my custom one, i have to go into nvidia control panel and change it with the adjust screen size option. (with the horizontal and vertical sliders) which is how i got the custom res, :/ its a bit of a **** ache tbh. cheers man
  5. hi guys =] Just wondering if theres a way to get my resolution back to the said spec with the 260.99 nvidia driver. before i updated my driver, my screen was at 1920x1080 no problem whatsoever and was fine in-game too. after the update, i had to custom pick a resolution which is at 1728x1026. anything higher, it extends past the edge of the screen on all sides, anything smaller it just creates a black border around the edges instead of snapping to the screen borders. I'm using s video to component. am i missing a setting or something that has been added in the later drivers? thanks guys
  6. okie poke, thanks guys. i wont clean install just yet, but the disc is here if i need it. i'll wait for starbuck for now =]
  7. Hi guys, im using xp home edition. My partner's facebook and hotmail accounts have had their passwords changed at 3:27 am this morning and it happened a couple of days ago too but we managed to recover them. Upon checking the ip where the passwords were changed from it gave our ip both times. i know it would be asked so i'll get it out the way :P the computer was off at this time and its the only pc that accesses the internet here as it connects through a modem atm, waiting for a new router. I'm pretty sure that its some form of virus that has changed the passwords to a pre defined word and then the hacker can use the accounts without giving up their ip? not sure. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JohnD
